Heard at the donut shop that ShopRite will be moving into to Rotterdam Sq. Mall. They said that they will take over TJ Maxx's area and some stores close by. This person works at the mall. Could all be rumor of course.............just thowin' it out there.

When are they going to open there. That might be good for my mom if they insist on staying in this town.

They are not opening any new stores in the Capital District. The original plans had more stores but they have been scraped. Food cooked in store? Even the bakery products
are shipped in for a quick heat up. The deli is the worst of any area supermarkets. Of the 4 stores over here only Nisky is in the black and that's because sheeple from
Montgomery and Saratoga Counties patronize it. Better to wish for a Wegman's the number one rated supermarket in the nation. They're not coming either but would take the
County by storm.

Gee, I'm so surprised!

The store in Niskayuna is doing well -- because it is well run, clean and has a GREAT deli.

Careful what you wish for. Wegmans has eliminated many name brand products and replaced with their own.
Pricing is minimal improvement but quality is lower. They have also reduced the name brand offerings
and increased their own brands.

Well, we don't go for lots of that processed food.  We eat healthier than deli food, regardless of store.

But wonder if people notice how many deli managers they have gone though at the Nisky store since they opened.  Not to mention how many store managers they have been through, managers who have been demoted, store managers, department managers being demoted to associates.  We know someone at one of the Albany Co stores who was telling us that no, they aren't opening any more stores locally and how there seems to be some issues in staff as they keep moving people around and demoting them.  .

I continue to hear about ShopRite opening more stores in the Capital Region.  Price Chopper will be losing market share.  I only wish that Wegmans would come to the area!

Oh yeah, all those failed managers at Shop Rite, they get moved around a much as priests were getting moved around, the only difference is the priests didn't get "demotions" in title like the managers do.  Yeah just start going to different stores, you'll see people who were at one store working as regular employees in another store location
