Box is in shock not that he killed people but he didn't register his gun 1st with the base, I mean what happened he didn't obey the laws, I know lets make even more laws and policies saying "All guns must be registered OR ELSE" that will surely stop another shooting.

Yea... a person with a known mental problem, on psycotic drugs, goes into a Texas gun shop, and some
lame @ss GunHugger tells him:
Sure I'll sell ya a gun... all ya need is the money... no background checks or nuttin'

He was NEVER ARMED and he was NEVER SHIPPED OVERSEAS TO KILL.
But the NRA and America's sick GunHuggers made sure that when this mentally ill man wanted to
buy a gun... they were right there to insure he'd be able to get one.

He was in a warzone and was trained to be a killer, for all we know he might of thought he was doing his duty which was to kill since that was pounded into his head by the military.

More people arming themselves not willing to be victims, excellent cartoon box.

Actually less people are arming themselves... but GunHuggers are arming themselves at record
rates.
Gun sales do not necessarily mean support for guns by the general public.

How does NYS make it more difficult to defend myself???

The more of these "deranged killers" who are unarmed by the SAFE ACT, the safer our neighborhoods
are for everyone.  Eliminating mental cases from the gun buying public helps keep our state safe...
Unlike Texas where all you need is a 'live body' with a fist full of cash to buy a gun.

Then all military that were in combat zones should be screened for PTSD, to see if the 2nd Amendment applies to them before returning to civilian status.  They should sign off on a disclaimer before signing up for "service" making them aware that their right to own a gun may be revoked based on a mental evaluation.  This evaluation should be done annually for the rest of their lives.

Cissy assumes that a diagnosis of PTSD is one of violent behavior!
"Link between PTSD and violent behavior is weak"
Quoted Text
It’s clear there is not an epidemic of stressed out veterans committing mass
shootings, and experts disagree on whether PTSD could ever be blamed.

“There are many, many people who have PTSD who never demonstrated violent behavior,”
said Janice Krupnick, a professor of psychiatry at Georgetown University School of Medicine.
“Most of the suffering is within themselves."

“The likelihood that they are going to pick up a gun and commit mass murder is extraordinarily
small," Krupnick told NBC News.

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) may develop after a person is expose to one or
more traumatic events, such as sexual assault, accidents, hurricanes or tornados,
serious injury, or the threat of death.

The diagnosis may be given when a group of symptoms, such as disturbing recurring
flashbacks, avoidance or numbing of memories of the event, and hyperarousal (high
levels of anxiety) continue for more than a month after the traumatic event.
Most people having experienced a traumatizing event will not develop PTSD.
Women are more likely to experience higher impact events, and are also more likely
to develop PTSD than men.

Boehner:  There's 'No Question' Mentally Ill Shouldn't Have Guns

“There’s no question that those with mental health issues should be prevented from owning
weapons or being able to purchase weapons,” Boehner said at a Capitol event.

Universal background checks (SAFE ACT) is the first step in this process.

There are many, many people with AR 15's that never demonstrated violent behavior, yet EVERYBODY has to be banned from owning the scary looking rifle.  The link between owning an AR 15 and mass shootings is "weak".  Remember box, it's about legislating for the exception, not the rule.  That's how you justify gun restrictions like magazine capacity. You take the fraction of one percent that misuse them and apply a law for EVERYBODY.

And your reason FOR having large capacity magazines is????
They are necessary for WHAT???
Other than for combat use, they are desirable for what purpose???

The answer... Cause I want em!  Thats it!
Americans die case "you want em"!

What I find interesting about this was the choice of weapon. A single .45 semi-auto pistol.

Why? Because the .45 doesn't have a large bullet capacity as compared to a lot of other popular pistols like the 9mm or .40 cal. (17(+1) and 15(+1) respectively)

Current modern S&W .45 have a top capacity of 10(+1) rounds.

19 total people were hit. This means the shooter had to reload at least once, assuming he was perfect with every shot, using 10 round magazines and saving the last shot for himself when confronted ( I disregarded the +1 chambered round since it wouldn't matter mathematically)

It shows that laws regarding bullet capacity limits for weapons are also ineffective and stupid because the .45 pistol is incapable of anything more than 10 rounds (+1 doesn't count) and that's in compliance even under the most strict gun laws. (NYSafe)
