The fact is, this guy comes on here and uses alter egos not only to lie, but to accuse others, usually women, of lying and also to call other posters filthy names, again usually women. Why is this tolerated? "Oh, it wasn't DV, it was sipps." Wrong. Having a sicko coming on here and making outrageous statements, and using sock puppets no less, drags down the level of the whole site. How does that look for the credibility of the other posters? I would like to post under my own name, I'm not afraid of anything from these people I call out, as I have the facts on my side, but I have to consider other people who could feel some degree of backlash from my being so outspoken. So right off the bat, there's a credibility issue that maybe some posters could have hidden agendas. I try to counter that with providing as many verifiable facts as possible. When it becomes painfully obvious that there are people posting on here spewing obvious lies, using sock puppets, and exhibiting symptoms of derangement, everyone on here gets tainted by association. As bad as it gets here in Schenectady, we don't have anything as bad as that man, It is shocking that he's allowed anywhere near any governing body of any kind.

I'm not sure why you seem to be more upset with me for objecting to it than with DVOR for his clownish and deceitful and vulgar behavior. Sock puppets are not that hard to spot, it is just that people do not want to believe that this goes on. DVOR does this repeatedly, some people are fooled for short periods of time, including me. I shouldn't really say fooled, because when a new poster presents herself, it is none of my concern who it is, so why would I waste my time being the police? So DV and his alters aren't really fooling people. It's when he uses these puppets for malicious purposes, such as presenting a "resident" to back up his lies about fees, or to call other posters filthy names without it being attributed correctly to him, it becomes both tiresome and damaging to the reputation of the website and the other posters, as I explained above. You seem to be focussed in on my use of the word "fact". Why should that bother you so much more than DV's crazy lies? Do you believe that he somehow walked three miles across town to school? I would not care, EXCEPT, he used this crazy lie to try to discredit what I posted. People don't know me, they only see a screen name, but I post here to try to do some good, believe it or not. If I let a lie stand, and it can be taken by some who have no way of knowing it is a lie as the truth, then it defeats my purpose in posting at all.
Then don't waste your time. Know what's an even bigger waste of time? Trying to get a message out before any more people lose everything they've worked for, only to get sandbagged because the forum loses all credibility due to the high tolerance for a wacko liar and his sock puppets. What exactly about this forum is a better use of time, if it can't be used as a vehicle to get the truth out?
I'm not sure if this should be posted here or the Rotterdam Politics subject area; if this is this is wrong here I apologize. I would like to say that my parents are kind of upset about that new fee to pick up leaves as they are seniors and can't really afford it. Does anyone know if Rotterdam is going to do like Schenectady does were senior citizens don't have to pay the full cost of the trash fee?
I would also like to ask fi I can point out that in Schenectady we do not have a brush pick up fee.

I'm a senior myself on a fixed income, but since I'm living in senior housing, I'm not faced with the problem. Other friends and relatives are pretty upset about the fee, and others have adopted a "whatever" attitude, deciding just to pay now, but making sure to voice their opposition at the polls in the fall.
Hopefully your parents will find some solution. HTH

I had to look for this topic because I didn't write in a while.
My parents have a house in the town with plenty of trees and even mulching leaves too much on the lawn in the fall. Maybe the grass would be ok but no the leaves.
This I understand will affect both grass and leaves, right?
But it's just costs are going up and for some it's a needed service and overall a small price to have to pay.
It will take some time for me to weigh all the positive or negative things about moving into my parents' house to help with my dad, that's why I'm trying to find suggestion for a construction company if anyone knows.
I really think I would prefer to stay in Schenectady but my sister and brother-in-law and I are trying to figure out how we could bring our parents here. But I want to point out for all those who the ctiy's taxes are so high that Schenectady does not have a fee for brush pick up.
