Since you were never in the military, but you are from a military family, I can only suggest that you ask a family member for help in this case. Ask them if the USA "INVADED" Vietnam. Not if the USA sent troops there, or if the USA fought there but if they INVADED Vietnam. Since you haven't had much luck finding any press reports of the INVASION, and your understanding of the word INVASION seems to be in question, please get help from your military family member and possibly he/they can enlighten you.

Since you were never in the military, but you are from a military family, I can only suggest that you ask a family member for help in this case. Ask them if the USA "INVADED" Vietnam.
