Shirley Temple Black was a conservative Republican.  Lost a 1967 bid to fill a U.S. House of Representatives seat from California.  Served as an ambassador under two GOP presidents,Gerald  Ford and George H.W. Bush.

I'm guessing Box A. Rox doesn't realize she was a staunch republican .. working in the Bush administration to boot!

But still, nice picture Mr Rox.

You guess WRONG Harry P.

Shirley Temple BLACK ran for congress in California against a LIBERAL REPUBLICAN Pete McCloskey
and she lost.  She was appointed as ambassador by several Republican Presidents.

Strange that Harry put his personal prejudice on my views.  There are many Republicans who
I admire and many that I would like to see take back their party from the Rabid Right TeaBaggers.

The GOP used to stand for something other than selfishness, and hopefully after losing a few more
elections, they will regain their former position as a viable political party.

RP, my GF, (the Green Eyed Goddess) knows many of Temples songs from her childhood movies and
will sing along with them when they are on TCM.  She is an Aerosmith/AC DC/Queen music fan, but
loves the old classic musicals.

I'm not a fan of Turner Classics.  I keep telling  The Green Eyed Goddess...
Choose something that's not in black & white...
Something made in the last 4 decades...
But it does no good.
Clark Gable, Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart ( "Play it once, Sam,
for old times' sake, play 'As Time Goes By'.")
, James Stewart, Rita Hayworth, Barbara
Stanwyck, Bette Davis, Joan Crawford...
I watch the bedroom TV with actual LIVING ACTORS playing the parts!

Actually Maximilian Schell ("Judgment at Nuremberg", "Topkapi", "The Odessa File", "Julia", "Deep Impact" amongst others), P.S. Hoffman and Richard Bull (Mr. Olesen on "Little House on the Prairie") are your "trifecta". All dying one day apart. Temple and Caesar are only 2. Keep looking for your third.

If I put Ralph Kiner (died last week)  back in, that makes six...it's a double trifecta

We are advised NOT to judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.   Funny how that works.
