Whats with this town, my parents trash was change because they couldn't do it in the snow. Thank goodness we have good trash pick up in Schenectady, they don't cancel in the snow.

A couple of years back, as I recall, they changed my collection day to Saturday because of snow, so most people had put their cans back already on the Friday and missed it. The men who pick up the trash do a good job, but as with everything is here in Schenectady, it is a question of leadership.

You've got to be kidding.  So they didn't open for one day, and everyone got adjusted one day for THIS WEEK ONLY.  We get a complete 52 weeks per year trash collection!   Schenectady you get several weeks less.

the town doesn't pick up my garbage....I pay a private company.....of my choice.....

why is the city on this thread......Rotterdam...people...rotterdam.....hire private trash collectors...

Let me assure you that in the city we have 52 weeks of trash collection.  

First..........the TOWN (gov almighty) does not pick up trash.....private companies do. If ya don't like the one your folks have....CHANGE. The folks in the city don't have that luxury. And those who live outside the city ALSO have trash pick up 52 weeks a year.

Maybe this isn't an imaginary girlfriend of DV after all, I'd think he has the intelligence to know that city homeowners do NOT have 52 weeks of the year.

(That's assuming, yes I know; that's assuming Gerri with an "I" is a female as we think Gerry with a "Y" would be a male....we won't get into that; so Gerri if you are a male, we apologize)

Did anyone ever git stuck behind one of the city garbage trucks? It's like taking yer life in yer hands. Garbage falling out of cans on sidewalks and road......'stuff' falling out of trucks as they drive away.

and just think..........folks will be paying their benefits FOR LIFE!!

AND TAKING THEIR SWEET TIME TO PICK IT UP....guess they have to get their time in...

I have one of those colored trash day schedules on my refrigerator. It is easy to see that there aren't 52 circles on it.
