Again... my post is far from what you posted in your "YOU BELIEVE, YOU THINK, YOU WANT" post,
isn't it!

No, I just articulated your beliefs, thoughts and desires based on your own words.  You desire to restrict tobacco and people's personal choice to use it by restricting its availability - yes your authoritarian BELIEFS.

Box, it's useless. Cissy can't understand reality in any shape and has no concept of
the corporate world and how decisions are made.
Cissy doesn't believe that a corporation or company has the right to
exercise their freedom to market products in a way they feel necessary based
on the monetary benefits, near and future.

JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!!

This isn't about the "corporate world" that you claim to know so much about.  It's about box's authoritarian tendencies and his open support for corporate decisions because the decision restricts a product HE believes should be restricted.
This corporate decision is a PR decision, with the full backing of the President that publicly commented on the corporate decision.  I didn't know Barack Obama was the company pitch man for CVS business decisions?  Didn't know the roll of the president was to make time in his busy schedule to endorse corporate marketing decisions?

OMG!  Cicero just described a STRAW MAN:  HIS version of MY beliefs!

Cicero has used the 'straw man' argument so often, he thinks that it's a valid point!

Do you support restricting the availability of tobacco like you said in your previous post?  Or were you just kidding so you could pull your straw man defense?

I thought that I made myself perfectly clear.  I'll post it again for you:

Quoted from Box A Rox
What I would like to see for cigarette manufacturers is to complete an FDA review as if their
product were a new product being introduced to the American people for the first time.
If their product passes the FDA review, then they should not be restricted.  But if their
product is dangerous to the American public... like asbestos, or DDT or TCE then it should
be restricted and treated as you'd treat any other toxic chemical.

Don't you think that dangerous chemicals... Class 1 carcinogens etc, should be restricted so that
the average citizen would not unknowingly be exposed to dangerous chemicals in their every day
lives?

This isn't about the "corporate world" that you claim to know so much about.  ?

The thread is about CVS not selling tobacco anymore, so it is about a Corporation and their decisions...
you just choose to make it an attack on Box, for expressing his personal views, which you seem to not
understand very well. You are all about posting your views, but choose to attack those that post theirs
simp0ly because they don't align with yours....aka CISSY RULES/ CISSY WORLD!!!

Corporate world claim??????....yes, reality of life experience is a wonderful thing.  Being in the Corporate world
and achieving certain positions, you are exposed to an understanding of how decisions are made and why.
You also are a part of those decision making processes and help shape the future of the company. To those like
yourself, the decisions make no sense because you are devoid of comprehending them.  It is obvious
you are sorely lacking in any understanding about these life's experiences.

Enjoy your tiny tiny angry world....it's so much easier then living in the real world!

No.  Let me guess..you don't consider yourself the "average citizen"?

I would say the average citizen knows tobacco may be harmful, and think Advil is completely safe.  Until they have liver damage.

Another reason why I love this group - everyone goes off on their own tangents and not ONE person can agree with anyone else.

Well played.

Well, box thinks a group of above average people(usually working for the government) need to restrict and regulate the personal consumption habits of the "average citizen".  You'll never read a post where I will agree with that kind of elite authoritarian thinking.  I don't claim to know what is best for 300 million+ people.  I know box will bring up my position on abortion, but my position is that the unborn have natural human rights, and should therefor be protected from harm caused maliciously by another person.

The first posting that started this thread, and what the thread is about (it's not about Box):
Quoted Text
WASHINGTON — Drug store giant CVS Caremark announced Wednesday it will no longer sell
tobacco products at its 7,600 pharmacies by Oct. 1.

CVS sells $1.5 billion in tobacco a year, but CVS officials said selling cigarettes while promoting wellness
doesn't make sense.

"Selling tobacco is very inconsistent with being in that business," said Helena Foulkes, CVS's president.
"We really thought about this decision as it relates to the future as a health company — it's good for
customers and our company, in the long run."

don't' see anywhere in this announcement that states they will "restrict and regulate the personal consumption habits of the "average citizen"."  .
Don't see anywhere in the article or within CVS Corporate filings that they have Government employees within their organization that are
making these choices and business decisions.
Those are all CISSY TANGENTS!!!!!

Follow along Joey...I can't bring you up to speed every time.

First, box clearly stated that he hoped more corporations would restrict access to tobacco that is now "openly available in America".

Exhibit A
Quoted from Box A Rox

I hope that this one small step will lead to further restrictions on one of the most addictive substances
openly available in America.

Then box tried to clarify his position by wanting to use the FDA(Yes, the FDA, a government agency of supposedly above average people who know what is best for EVERYBODY) to rate tobacco and then have the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT decide whether it is a product that should be "openly available in America".

Exhibit B
Quoted Text
What I would like to see for cigarette manufacturers is to complete an FDA review as if their
product were a new product being introduced to the American people for the first time.
If their product passes the FDA review, then they should not be restricted.  But if their
product is dangerous to the American public... like asbestos, or DDT or TCE then it should
be restricted and treated as you'd treat any other toxic chemical.

So while you are correct the it appears that CVS made a "corporate decision"(a decision that the president of the United States just so happened to endorse on the same day of the announcement), box-a-cox is sitting behind his keyboard with a chubby in ecstasy, hoping his dream of eliminating tobacco as a product "openly available to the public" comes true.

The authoritarian box doesn't care how his goal of tobacco no longer being "openly available to the public", he just knows that his belief that it should be eliminated is accomplished.  Whether by a corporate "business decision" or government legislation.  The end is what matters to box, not the means of getting there.  Box knows how people should live and what they put in their body.

Box has that boomer mentality of "making a difference" in the community.  That is authoritarian code for dictating how everybody should live based on your values.

Hey corporate boy, when did your company get the full backing of the President of the United States the same day your company announced strategic changes?

OFFICIAL WHITE HOUSE STATEMENT
Quoted Text
“I applaud this morning’s news that CVS Caremark has decided to stop selling cigarettes and other tobacco products in its stores, and begin a national campaign to help millions of Americans quit smoking instead.  As one of the largest retailers and pharmacies in America, CVS Caremark sets a powerful example, and today’s decision will help advance my Administration’s efforts to reduce tobacco-related deaths, cancer, and heart disease, as well as bring down health care costs – ultimately saving lives and protecting untold numbers of families from pain and heartbreak for years to come.  I congratulate – and thank – the CEO of CVS Caremark, Larry Merlo, the board of directors, and all who helped make a choice that will have a profoundly positive impact on the health of our country.”

Nah...Obama praising the CVS decision because they "will help advance MY administrations effort..." wasn't a political decision.  It was a "corporate decision" not in coordination with any government officials or political parties.

Please...Join Reality Joey.
