~ CVS Caremark To Stop Selling Tobacco Products ~

WASHINGTON — Drug store giant CVS Caremark announced Wednesday it will no longer sell
tobacco products at its 7,600 pharmacies by Oct. 1.
CVS sells $1.5 billion in tobacco a year, but CVS officials said selling cigarettes while promoting wellness
doesn't make sense.
"Selling tobacco is very inconsistent with being in that business," said Helena Foulkes, CVS's president.
"We really thought about this decision as it relates to the future as a health company — it's good for
customers and our company, in the long run."

President Barack Obama is praising CVS Caremark’s decision to take tobacco products off
the shelves, saying it will save lives and reduce health care costs.
“As one of the largest retailers and pharmacies in America, CVS Caremark sets a powerful example,”
he said in a statement early Wednesday morning. “Today’s decision will help advance my Administration’s
efforts to reduce tobacco-related deaths, cancer, and heart disease, as well as bring down health care
costs.”

they stopped cause folks aren't buying cigs at cvs. it wasn't a money maker.
our nephew is a store mgr of a cvs.
they(cvs and rite aid) will continue to sell beer cause that is the biggest money maker!!
it's all about the $$$$$. |

Hey....don't shoot the messenger! I don't have a horse in this race. Just repeating what was told to us last week. Our nephew manages a cvs in another state and has for years. Again, as was told to us....they were not going to sell cig products......it wasn't a major money maker.
don't know anything more....and really don't care. it was bound to happen eventually. |

you see, national health insurance/care is going to a 'doc in the box' form....
walmart will be a clinic and CVS is already under the umbrella....
CVS is NOT doing it of it's own free will...they are going after the $$$ reward....they also get a kick back of sorts based on the
number of flu vaccines they can dish out....
FOLLOW THE $$ TRAIL......your health 'care' as folks like to pretend it is, has turned into a cattle barn....how's that cattle brand? |

CVS is NOT doing this because they "care"... there is no 'love' of the American people here.... this is a red herring for some sort of kickback Obamacare has in store for the pill dispenser. Medical marijuana? The first in line for the Obamacare millions as the primary script location. They are losing $2 billion... but what has Obama promised them in return.... something worth much more.....wait for it...wait for it.......... |
