Saratoga County is in much better shape for two reasons.  First, there are decent jobs.  But more importantly, they are governed by a Board of Supervisors.  They control the sales tax revenue going to their municipalities, and they make sure they get it.  Schenectady County is governed by Legislature which keeps far to much of the revenue stream for the county, thus starving the municipalities.  With continued unfunded mandates and a reduced revenue scheme (by design), the local municipality has no choice but to raise taxes to survive.

Our taxes went up, look who argued with Erickson, the budget guy, over the budget. A leech, that's who. A loudmouth, no marketable skills leech.

I think we ha d a guy in the city finance dept who mentioned the inequities, the Mayor fired him.

YES!! And they have a two party system. The Capo does not have a Majority. We need to get back to a unpaid Board Of Supervisors. First fire Joe Queen and Lumpy Kosiur
