My Dad is trying to sell his home in Florida, really a nice house near a lake, not far from Orlando etc. (the price is VERY low) It is advertised in Florida but I thought might be a good idea to list it somewhere in this area for those 55+ who want a winter home or a permanent home there. Anyone know of a good website to do this? thanks

When I sold my camp on Sacandaga, I went to a realtor who specialized in 'lake property'. He didn't advertise locally at all. Instead he advertised in the NYC, NJ market and the property sold in weeks, at 1/3 higher price than what similar properties were selling for in the local market.
Find a realtor who knows this market.

That's the first market I'd look at if I was going to sell our families GSL property.. Many of the existing camps that are bought from the NJ/NYC area are leveled in lieu of luxury lakehouse structures..certainly their right to do what they want, but it does detract from the Adirondack camp feel of the GSL... I do wish they would leave their arrogant, aggressive downstate attitudes at home however. Although, as a kid, we did make a bit of money pulling those clowns and their $50k+ boats off of sandbars on the weekends

It looks like a nice retirement place or a good winter home for snowbirds. All the photos loaded for me. I don't know anything about Fla home prices but that price is less than the price of a new car!
Good luck with the sale!

Yup it's a decent house, he kept it up, I feel bad that with improvements and cost of upkeep he's going to take a loss, just like having a house in Sch'dy
I think he should talk to his realtor about advertising up north, I think someone would grab it.
Probably the biggest thing keeping the price down is the fact that it is older manufactured housing (mobile home). I'm guessing by the layout its much like a mobile home park up here (with lot rent), but way nicer with better neighbors. It's great deal for snowbirds!
I am looking at much the same thing, just about 10 years or so down the road.

Those are a good deal for snowbirds, relatives of mine found it to be the best for their budget. I had some other relatives who did sell an Adirondack property quickly when they advertised it on one of those downstate area sites.
