So the premise made by the jack a** who started the topic is completely incorrect.

Proof POSITIVE that the guy who claims he has us blocked, in fact does NOT have us.

Proof POSTIVE that he reads but REFUSES to address the FACTS presented here  by we INTELLIGENT AND INFORMED people, he REFUSES to address the MQASSIVELY FALLING tax base in the city caused DIRECTLY by his buddy dems, THE fact THAT LONG TIME TAXPAYING businesses downtown have closed because the dems have taxed them out of business.  His plex dems INCREASED taxed one LONG TIME TAXPAYING hair salon downtown in order to give a 100% tax exemption to a billionaire hair salong downtown, so the long time taxpaying business goes out of business.

Proof POSTIVRE that he reads the psts bug REFUSES to address the EVIDENCE that people in the city are leaving in droves, either by putting houses up for sale, abandoning them, or losign them to foreclosure, the EVIDECNE that there IS A massive increase in residential units (be they houses, flats or apartments) while the dems are taxing homeowners more to build new UNNEEDED apartments.

He REFUSES to address the FACT that Erie Blvd (north of the RR bridge) is absolutely terrible, in very poor condition, that that the dems have WASTED money on stupid UNNEEDED fancy lighting instead of using the money to fix the part of Erie Blvd doing damage to cars.

He still looking for the dems to give him a cushy high paid do-nothing job soi he has to shake the pom poms for them.

Quoted from CICERO

You could very well be correct about the "internal & external" issues the Hallmark store may be having.  But lets not forget, Marcella's and Villa Italia THREATENED to leave Schenectady County, and only decided to stay when they were very well subsidized through Metroplex and the County.  Now, was Villa Italia or Marcella's experiencing "internal & external"(market related) issues when they were contemplating moving to Saratoga County to do business?  Was the reason they wanted to flee Schenectady County is because "foot traffic" was low?  Or was the business climate in Schenectady so bad(taxes & regulations), that leaving would have been better for their bottom line?  Or was it pure extortion of the taxpayer money out of absolute greed?

Maybe the Italian pastry business and home appliance business is on the decline...And maybe, just maybe, the local politicians threw Mallozzi and Marella a life line in the tune of hundreds of thousands in property tax exemptions and grants, and low interest loans backed by the taxpayer to keep them solvent.

Very well stated.

DV however sill ABSOLLUTELY TOTALLY REFUSE to address those FACTS, and the obvious BRIBES AND KICKBASCKS by the dems in an DESPARATE act of increasing taxes on financially struggling homeowners in order to bribe the millionaire Mallozzi family into staying in Schenectady; I dont' know about Marcella's welth, but he doesn't live IN the city so he doesn't even pay property and school taxes in the city!   But he takes from the taxpayers.

DV will NOT address those FACTS

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

So DV REFUSES to make a re-appearance here to discuss the FACTs that were presented, facts that had EVIDENCE to support them.

He has not one shred of evidence to support what he said.

No, DV, would you care to speak about your buddy dems giving away the taxpayers' money to downtown instead of spending it on NECESSITIES TO THE TAXPAYERS IN THE NEIGHBORHODS, like declaring a snow emergency.

Yep, the city did such an absolutely wonderful job cleaning the strets in the city that a city plow skidded on a city street and overturned..  But you REFUSE to address these issues.

TOTAL SILENCE.

that's politics for ya! Most politicians.....NOT ALL.....but most have egos bigger than the universe that needs to be fed.

special interest groups are the same!

bt, there are places where businesses renovate, with their own money, and civic leaders are too busy minding the community's real business to take notice. They are real. I don't know if there are any left in New York, though.
In fact, thinking about it just now, that is probably the reason that some communities do have businesses that renovate on their own initiative, because those communities have leaders who are busy doing the work they get elected and paid to do. We have just gotten brainwashed, that the government managing this stuff is the natural order of things. Did you see the new commercials, paid for by us, where the governor is asking people to come to New York and freeload off the other taxpayers while they start a new business? See, it's the governor that creates jobs! Never mind, his dad was governor for twelve long years, if they knew how to create paradise why did they keep it a secret until now? And why is dad now a wealthy man, after a career of "public service"?
