I got a cold a few days ago and while the coughing is minimal my sinuses are stuffed. I tried everything from vapor rubs, hot showers, facial massages, vaporizers with no help at all, does anyone know of any other treatments one could do at home to relieve the pressure? There is no pain but its more of a pain in the a$$ then anything, not to mention I can't even taste any food I eat.

I never believed in "aromatherapy" and scoffed at it, only trying it to prove that it DIDN'T work... I had similar "PRESSURE" symptoms and on the advice of a friend tried some of her "Peppermint Oil". I first tired it by putting a few drops of the oil on a tissue and breathing it in for a few minutes... to my surprise it relieved the 'pressure' and opened up my sinus so that I could breathe again.
I bought a 1 oz. bottle of 100% pure Peppermint Oil at a health food store for around $4.00. Since you only use a few drops, it lasts for years. I'm still using the same bottle that I bought in the 80's. (If you have a mustache, you can just dab a few drops on your mustache... works great!) NOTE: If you have sensitive skin, inhale the oil but don't touch it to your face or get it close to your eyes.
The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness. John Kenneth Galbraith

Peppermint oil also doubles as a mouse deterrent...Works great in a basement you actually use and smells much better than mothballs...

One of my family members gets good results with the NeilMed salt packets and the bottle or netipot that go with them. The products with pseudoephedrine give good temporary relief if you have the 'watery' type pressure. I personally have been having problems for which there is no relief because the netipot doesn't work for some people. I saw a gadget on tv the other night that was some kind of hand-held vaporizer, like an oxygen mask, and I'm waiting to see the commercial again so I can see the name of the product and read up on it. BTW, the netipot was doctor recommended to my relative because too much of any of the OTC products are bad for you.

Three fingers of scotch and a cigar. Dulls the discomfort, dries the sinuses.

All I have is some corn whiskey and some menthol cigarettes

Scotch(or Crown Royal) and a cigar. No cigarettes, don't want to inhale deep into lungs. DONT PANIC! Most sinus infections are viral. Antibiotics don't help. Could take 2+ weeks to get over. Manage the discomfort...no easy cure...just time.
Feeling a little better, boiled some water with some vapor rub and breathed that in under a towel. Also had some chicken noodle soup. Tried a little of everything you guys posted
