Is this entertainment for idiots??? Yes! And America has a lot of idiots. It's today's version of Jerry Springer.
As is jersey shore, the wives of "fill in the blank", etc... I don't watch it, but know several people that do, and they're far from idiots...it's entertainment, nothing more, nothing less...problem is, many people lives their lives through it...sports and entertainment stars...the most admired people in the US...that says more about us than them |

Yes, the cancer is that America is a nation of self righteous people that believe if you don't share the same opinions as them, those with other opinions are called a "cancer". |

oh I don't know.....I think if they just let it go and didn't make such a big issue out of this...it would have died it's own death. OR just edit it like they have in the past. but now.....duck dynasty is MORE popular than ever. again.....we don't watch reality tv. and hey...........that is what reality tv is, right?....their reality!! I'm sure a&e was well aware of this family and their beliefs when they were signed on.....no? I wonder if there was anything in their contract that disallowed them to voice their opinions. WE DON'T LIKE REALITY TV!! It is obviously NOT REALITY! |

No way was it going to be 'let go' by the media. The January 2014 issue of GQ release JUST HAPPENS to coincide with a significant deadline. These media driven "outrage" events serve a purpose. The ancient Romans used to distract the masses by throwing Christians to the lions. Look what happened to their society. |

Interestingly enough, some of the FB comments on the page include people supporting Phil who are part of the LGBT community:
“I for one (a GAY man) WILL stand behind Phil for expressing and believing his values even though not mine, that’s fine. People (A&E) need to get over themselves. Phil may not be Politically correct, but, he speaks his mind, there is no grey area with him and for that I RESPECT the man.”

In addition to the FB page, there is a Duck Dynasty, Phil Robertson petition against A&E on Change.org that has already gathered 30,000 signatures. This is how they state their goal:
“Freedom of speech along with freedom of religion is being attacked every single day in this country. Phil Robertson simply stated what his convictions are. Homosexuals have their convictions and Christians respect them. There is a difference between respecting someone rights to exercise free will and imposing on others what we believe. Phil has done nothing more than state what he believes in. Just because homosexuals do not agree, does not mean Mr. Robertson needs to be suspended.”

The same game plan was undoubtedly in place when the Coastal Carpetbaggers came knocking on the door of the Robertson family. We can just imagine how the Carpetbaggers’ business planning meeting went back at the home office after their initial howdy-do with the Dynasty. “Whoa! Will you look at those beards. What a hoot! These hick clowns are guaranteed to make us a fortune. Heck, you can’t make stuff like this up. Let’s pay them a pittance to act like the country bumpkins they were obviously born to be, right in front of our cameras. We’ll label it ‘reality TV,’ sell outrageous amounts of ad spots, make a fortune, and join the 1% we otherwise love to denounce in our self-serving public statements. It’s a win-win, alright. Even for those hicks. What’s not to love here?” What happened instead turned the entertainment industry upside down. From the start, “Duck Dynasty” was unlike any other reality show. The usual bad behavior and questionable morals encouraged, documented, and even artificially scripted on other reality shows gave way to good manners, family values, and Christian beliefs on “Duck Dynasty.” And lo, a reality show lacking the standard twin advantages of drunken antics and contrived conflict defied the odds and became a huge success. The Robertsons chose instead to remind viewers that regardless of how successful we become, nothing is more important than family and friends.Imagine the shock and surprise of A&E when the net-heads realized their stock reality show formula was so far removed from what we really want to see. They discovered that we are tired of watching people behaving badly. And why wouldn’t we be after a long day at the salt mines?Read more: http://communities.washingtont.....e-fam/#ixzz2o2yvAUmR

Box, Hillary Clinton told families of the dead at Benghazi that we were going to get the maker of a Youtube video. Explain to me what Republicans had to do with that.
BTW, the President has apparently made another illegal change to his own law of the land, on a Friday afternoon, while everybody was directing their attention to the media declared outrage target of the moment. |
