When the last min. wage increased happened, how many poor people weren't poor anymore?

I don't know.  How many???

How many "poor people" don't have any job...
How many "poor people" are working so far below the poverty level that even an increase of
$1.00 an hour will still have them living in poverty...

The poverty level in the USA for a family of 1 is $11,170.  On a 40 hour job that's less
than $5.40 an hour.
For a family of 4 the poverty level is 23,050... or just over $11. an hour.

Could you survive on $5.40 an hour?
Could you feed a family of 4 on $11 an hour?

Probably...if there wasn't an 8% sales tax, or a tax on heat and electricity, or a high gasoline tax, then you have the ridiculously high school tax and property tax driving up rent.  Then you have all the payroll taxes.  I'm sure there are hundreds of more regulations and taxes the screw the minimum wage worker.

But if course none on that is to blame.  Government regulation good - employer bad.

Tax free for all... the Rich get Richer, the Poor get Poorer.

you're very narrow minded....it's a fiat system with all kinds of regulations/legislations and podium pucks...and yet you
think it can be made equal....

that's like saying let's build a bicycle with 100 wheels and no pedals.......you can't...ALL parts are needed some of
lesser value than another....which is true in any machine....

the rich CAN'T get richer if there are not taxes...why are there no taxes? because there is nothing they need to be
collected for....so if there is nothing to collect them for then there is no government and everyone owns property without
the assistance of lawyer/legislators......

the poor CAN'T get poorer if there are not taxes for the same reason.....

the monster eating it all is the monster that tells you your worth and then regulates what the bottom is....
the government doesn't regulate to tell you the top of the mountain...it regulates to tell you what the bottom is...and
there will ALWAYS be someone at the bottom no matter what kind of an arbitrary increase that looks/sounds good is
put into effect.....

first you have to define the reasons for taxes....mostly it's because people can't survive without the post industrial
system we ended up in....land ownership is huge factor....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Ah, I forgot, I would be cutting out the middle men.  The Northeast Regional Assistant Manager of Pens and Pencils at the local DSS building may lose his 6 figure job if there weren't taxes.  How cruel I am.

NEW YORK
IS TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS

There’s a new advantage to doing business in New York. A big one. START-UP NY, Governor Cuomo’s groundbreaking initiative, is creating tax-free zones across the state for new and expanding businesses. Now businesses can operate 100% tax-free for 10 years. No business, corporate, state or local taxes, sales and property taxes, or franchise fees.

Wow, and done by the same leftist cocks that you gladly spread cheeks for.

Why would NY need 'Tax Free Zones'?

Income Inequality Is Hurting The Economy

Quoted Text
The growing gap between the richest Americans and everyone else isn't bad just for individuals.

It's hurting the U.S. economy.

A key source of the economists' concern: Higher pay and outsize stock market gains are
flowing mainly to affluent Americans. Yet these households spend less of their money than
do low- and middle-income consumers who make up most of the population but whose pay
is barely rising

NEW YORK (CNNMoney)
President Obama has been loud and clear about his fight against income inequality, but he admitted that the rich have fared far better than the poor during his time in the White House.

In an interview that aired Sunday on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos," the show host cited a recent study from the University of California, Berkeley, that found 95% of income gains from 2009 to 2012 went to the top 1% of the earning population.

The president agreed with Stephanopoulos.

"The folks in the middle and at the bottom haven't seen wage or income growth, not just over the last three, four years, but over the last 15 years," the president said.

In fact, other data also show that America's median household income has dropped by more than $4,000 since 2000, after adjusting for inflation.

During the interview, Obama said his priority as president has been to stabilize the economy and create jobs. He said the country has made progress with 42 straight months of economic growth and 7.5 million new jobs in the private sector.

His other focus he said has been to chip away at the growing trend of income inequality.

The president cited his efforts to tax the rich more, make health care more affordable, and usher in financial reforms to avoid future bailouts funded by taxpayers.

However, Stephanopoulos pressed the president, highlighting again that the economic recovery since the financial crisis has overwhelmingly favored the richest Americans.

"Do you look at that, four and a half years in, and say, 'Maybe a president just can't stop this accelerating inequality?'" he asked.

Nice opinion poll.  I just wish they asked who should define "wealthy" and "less well off".  And what the current definition is.

Like most polls, the question is asked, it's up to the respondent's opinion of who is
"wealthy" or "less well off".

RESULTS FROM REPUBLICANS:
Favor less well-off Americans 38%
Favor the wealthy 48%

RESULTS FROM CONSERVATIVES:
Favor less well-off Americans 33%
Favor the wealthy 53%

RESULTS FROM THOSE MAKING OVER $100K
Favor less well-off Americans 36%
Favor the weal%thy 58
