for the Salvation Army because she greeted shoppers with the phrase “Happy Holidays” instead
of “Merry Christmas.”
“The lady looked at me,” Katrinia Vindiola recalled. “I thought she was going to put money in the kettle.

Atheists celebrate Christmas!  You know... not only the 'made up' Christ's birthday is popular this time
of year but also celebrating the winter Solstice, celebrating 'make believe' Santa Claus and his flying reindeer,
or celebrating 'made up' holiday of Festivus!

I don't understand this conversation....

if you celebrate christmas then celebrate it...who cares what anyone outside your head does....

Its a good idea but there are nutcases on both sides who want their version of life pushed on others.

The Real War On Christmas

The hypocrisy of the right: they want to keep “Christ in Christmas,” but they don’t want to
keep Christ’s teachings in the policies they advocate.

It’s as if there are two Jesus Christs.

  There’s the one in the Bible who advocates helping people in need, especially the poor. And
then there’s the Jesus that conservatives worship, whose philosophy is to callously slash programs
that help the less fortunate, from food stamps to health insurance to unemployment benefits.

It doesn’t take a Ph.D. in religious studies to comprehend the basic teachings of Jesus.
The New Testament is filled with passages where Jesus implores his followers
to care for the poor. Arguably the best known is Matthew 25:34-36, where Jesus discussed the
importance of helping people in need: “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty
and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and
you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.”

Conservatives have no problem helping the poor, in fact it has been shown conservatives donate more time and money then do the liberals. Jesus would be against stealing and that is what the liberals suggest to help those in need, but only if they get to control the money flow and use that stolen money as a way to bribe the poor for power. And the post above coming from a guy who doesn't pay his fair share like the rest of us, he is no better then the rich he claims get special attention.

Jesus spoke often of the Rich and their "donations"!

the war on Christmas is nothing more than a political created issue.

Last I knew, Christmas advertisements, decorations and sales started BEFORE holloween.
Homes are decorated over and beyond.
Christmas trees are decorated over and beyond.
Christmas cards are a 'must send'.
People buy Christmas gifts and spend the next year trying to pay them off.
The term 'happy holidays' was created to widen the diverse circle of possible 'purchases' for corporate America.
It's clearly a win-win for corporate America.

War on Christmas? Just for those who got caught up in the usual political bullcrap.

Christmas is more alive and well today than ever! It is the biggest economy booster of the year!

And corporate America is singing Christmas carols all the way to the bank!

you can celebrate a religious Christmas or a secular Christmas.....your choice.
