"BOTH....high security jobs....TRUTH!"
If that is true and they are telling people this information,
then they have no place in any security position, not even Mall cop!

This is already known, its not top secret, the news has been covering our missile defense system for years. I'm sure we have better technology then what they're releasing to the public but the concept and successful tests have already been televised.

Henry,
The system that you posted in the video is an onboard defense system and the Obama Administration
has also proposed two land based systems in Europe.

As of this month, the system (as near as I can tell) is still in the test and development stages and
not deployed for use that would be effective for an attack on US soil.
See below for test data:

Similar systems are already being used today on the battle field, look at Israel's Iron Dome project, it has been pretty successful. I doubt the military is going to release every system we have in place to the public, but if we are sending this technology to other countries you can be assured we have stuff we aren't sharing.

The patriot missiles were used to protect Israel from Scud missiles fired from Iraq.  They didn't work.

Every time a Patriot was fired, more people died on the ground than if they didn't fire them.

I would hope that there are better defense systems in place and I keep reading on this board
that the USA has a system that can protect the USA from a Chinese nuke sub.
BUT
So far, no one has posted the name of the system or it's capabilities.

Quoted Text
The Aegis Combat System is controlled by an advanced, automatic detect-and-track, multi-
function three-dimensional passive electronically scanned array radar, the AN/SPY-1. Known
as "the Shield of the Fleet", the SPY high-powered (6 megawatt) radar is able to perform search,
tracking, and missile guidance functions simultaneously with a track capacity of well over
100 targets at more than 100 nautical miles (190 km). However the AN/SPY-1 Radar is
mounted lower than the AN/SPS-49 radar system and so has a reduced radar horizon.

The "SHIELD OF THE FLEET" is designed to PROTECT THE FLEET, not the entire USA.
This weapons system could be of use if it is near enough to an incoming threat but as yet there
are no land based systems beyond the proposal phase.

Another problem is the AEGIS blind spot.  SUBMARINES!

Don't know what, I told you to Google it and hit news, many NEWS stories will come up talking about our MDS. I don't have to prove nothing, anyone here can do what I told you and they can see for themselves.

Here is my issue, regardless of real satellite systems or not...
A nuclear weapon is still a nuclear weapon, if exploded on land or sea or in the air.
If a nuclear missile is fired from a sub (or from land) and it is destroyed in space,
isn't the nuclear fallout still going to occur and even more widespread as a result???
The mushroom would be in space, but the fallout would cover a much larger land area.
That's my take, and I may be totally wrong.

So there is a "RUMOR" on this board that there is a weapons system to protect the USA from a
Sub launched nuke attack.  It exists, but no one knows the name of this system.  In order to be
built, this system must have received funding but no one can point to the funding bill.

The last time I've heard of a country wide system to protect the country was in the Reagan Years...
The Star Wars program, that was scrapped.

I suspect this is just one more board RUMOR GONE WILD by people with CONSPIRACY TENDENCIES and
NO FACTS!

I don't know about this "alleged" systems capabilities, but when the USA used Patriots missiles
against Saddam's SCUDS, the weapon didn't detonate in the air, but were knocked out of the air
en route to it's target.  These SCUDS would then often explode when they hit the ground.

Nukes are not conventional bombs, its not like you can drop it off a roof and it will blow, a charge needs to set a projectile into the uranium for it to detonate.

If I'm not mistaken, the STAR WARS program intent was to detonate the missile upon launch (basically bombing their own location), and
Regan intended to have satellites positioned over Russia at all times.

With todays satellites.....they would be blown out of the sky before they ever reached the earth....
everybody knows that!!!

I'm still waiting for Bumbler to get back with a link to what "everybody knows".

From Henry's post:
It is the policy of the United States to deploy as soon as is technologically possible an
effective National Missile Defense system capable of defending the territory of the United
States against limited ballistic missile attack.

Again from Henry's post:
Quoted Text
Missile defense technology being developed, tested and deployed by the United States is
designed to counter ballistic missiles of all ranges

So in both cases we are discussing FUTURE WEAPONS that are being TESTED and may make
a suitable weapon AS SOON AS IT IS TECHNOLOGICALLY POSSIBLE!

Again, quoting Henry's post.
