Yeah...Timing couldn't have been better to hold the County over a barrel.  Image all those sales tax receipts the county wouldn't collect if the mall closed for Black Friday.  Brilliant.  Call in Metro-Welfare!

We know folks who work 'for the mall' and they said that they are....in their words....'cheap ba$tards'.
they are running the mall on 'bare bones'....so to say.
they have sold off some 'assets'.
they've laid some folks off.
this may just be a 'grab the rents' and run!

if the METROPLEX/GILLEN gives these swindlers ONE PENNY.....then the METROPLEX/GILLEN has NO credibility and should be abolished IMMEDIATELY!!!

The "city-county" of Schenectady is in a renaissance !!!!!!!!!!!!

Next step, Galesi buys the mall and plex, the town and county agree to make the property tax exempt.

expected it to be closed in 2015.....and an underhanded deal will be done....too bad for the good  people who liked to shop there

and the crooks and scum who are there to steal and cause chaos....

there is nothing that makes me want to stay in this town any more....and I see so many others agree...

Now what?????

Anyone have any thoughts on what will become of the property?  Some possibilities to ponder:
  • Public safety building
  • County government complex
  • Low income housing
  • Department of Social Services
  • Rotterdam Senior Center
  • Non-profit soup kitchen
  • Proctors entertainment complex
  • Recycling Center

Reinvented, Reinvigorated and Renamed Multi-Use hotel, retail, office complex  --- suggestion for name Rotterdam Town Center or Western Gateway Plaza.
