only a nayboob would consider a Family Dollar to be "bigger and better" than a TJMaxx .. but they can't help it that they don't have good taste in restaurants, stores or - quite frankly - much of anything in life.

Could be just me but haven't noticed much PLEX/Politician support for the new mgr./owner at least publically.   Did recall one quote in GAZ. from PLEX when new owner was announced in GAZ.   Did'nt seem like it was a rousing endorsement, at least not like the ones we've become accustomed to when PLEX $$$ is involved.

We are advised NOT to judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.   Funny how that works.

Yankee One Dollar stores to close, owner blames rising expenses
Posted on March 27, 2014 | By Eric Anderson

Waterford-based Yankee One Dollar stores will be gone within the next five months, its owner told the Post Star of Glens Falls. Keith Flike blamed the Affordable Care Act and the increase in the state’s minimum wage for the decision to shut down. Each store has six to 10 employees, he told the Post Star.

Yankee One Dollar has 23 stores, down from a peak of 39. The Daily Gazette reported stores at Crosstown Plaza in Schenectady and at Rotterdam Square mall would close. Yankee One Dollar also has stores at Hudson Valley Plaza in Troy and in Waterford.

The folks we talk too (thru work) thru out the country say the economy is very bad....EVERYWHERE!! There are obviously pockets of healthier economies. But not many in comparison. All of these businesses closing....more folks on unemployment or any other form of government assistance with no jobs available.

Clearly the stimulus/bail-out did NOTHING!!!

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

They may not become extinct but you may only see one or two survivors in a Metro area.. I.e for us, it's obvious it will be Colonie Center and/or Crossgates..
Rotterdam Square will most likely assume the open air shopping center model that Mohawk Commons has...

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
