To torture Cicero all you'd have to do is lock him in a room with a ballot, and feed him bread
and water till he votes!

Watching people cast votes like it means something is torture enough.

It don't matter if it's capitalism, socialism, communism, fascism  ....or any other 'ism'...............NONE of them will work efficiently, effectively or equally!!!

THERE IS TOO MUCH GREED AT THE TOP OF 'ALL' 'ISM'S'!!!

They are ALL a rigged system to benefit the few!

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Of course, this doesn't include the government programs (HEAP, food stamps, etc...they didn't have either in 1950.) that most, if not all minimum wage earners qualify for...

All wages buy less today.  And the amount of money the government borrows and is indebted to banker exploded.  No correlation though.  Raising the minimum wage will fix it.

How many small mom and pop stores do you know that could pay out $21 an hour, should they be forced to close for not being successful enough to pay that amount, what about the employees who agreed to work for less, should they now be forced to quit and try to find work in a already tough job economy?

increasing minimum wage is a great idea!
I'm all for it...
HOWEVER....in order for businesses to pay higher wages, the government will have to reduce the taxes/fees etc that businesses  are 'forced' to pay.

Do we have a 'wage comparison'?

my co-worker's daughter was interning for college in australia.
she was waitressing for $20/hr + tips.
That's the only one i personally know about.

Not sure a direct comparison is possible, however, this should
give you a good idea of the value of her $20 (USD or AUSD?

It's all relative unless one is able to find some cash cow like a casino, collect the money and place it in oil drums in their basement...

or learn to grow/raise their own food, build/maintain their own home and water supply......

anything one is able to do for themselves 'off the grid' doesn't require a 'minimum wage'.....

the system is fixed GLOBALLY.....the earth is FLAT unless you are connected to the mofia government or some government stooge.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

it's all equalative.
wages = cost of living.

REALLY???????
Quoted Text
cost of living   (Concise Encyclopedia)
Monetary cost of maintaining a particular standard of living,
usually measured by calculating the average cost of a number of goods and services.
Measurement of the cost of a minimum standard of living is essential in determining
relief payments, social-insurance benefits, and minimum wages. The cost of living is
customarily measured by a price index such as the consumer price index. Measurements
of change in the cost of living are important in wage negotiations. Cost-of-living
measurements are also used to compare the cost of maintaining similar living
standards in different areas. See also social insurance.
