2016 GOP presidential hopeful and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul took up what he called the “moral crisis’ afflicting the country, suggesting that the U.S. needs a series of “tent revivals” to get back on the proper path.
maybe it will reflect something of the 60's and marijuana legalization across the country?
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
“The First Amendment says keep government out of religion, not religion out of government.” — Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), Is this how "libertarians" see this issue?
Is it OK then to have a national religion... say Islam, or Christian... or to declare that one religion is to be used in Government proceedings?

Quoted Text
Arizona state State Sen. Sylvia Allen (R) raised the possibility of requiring church attendance for every American, the Arizona Republic reports. Said Allen: “Probably we should be debating a bill requiring every American to attend a church of their choice on Sunday to see if we can get back to having a moral rebirth
(Rand's view seems to be catching on)

Wow! A State rep is talking mandatory church and President Obama is talking mandatory voting. One wants the forced worship of Gods, the other wants forced worship of government. Interesting....

Is it OK then to have a national religion... say Islam, or Christian... or to declare that one religion is to be used in Government proceedings?
Wow, right off the deep end.
You know he was referring to politicians being free to vote based on their own religious beliefs.
You also know that the first amendment is to keep the government out of religion, not to forbid or restrict religious beliefs from government officials.
No one cares what Randy Paul's religious beliefs are. We care that his religious beliefs are not forced on the rest of us by the power he has as a Senator or President.

How is a representative make decisions? I haven't read where in the constitution that decisions must be made absent of religious belief. I know the Governmen can establish a religion based on the constitution.

Well, as usual, your reading comprehension leaves a lot to be desired, and you have twisted my comments to suit your needs. Elementary reading comprehension....not Sissy interpretation!

What did I miss? You said you don't want elected representatives making decisions on your behalf based on their religious beliefs, then you said that is what the constitution is about. I personally never read that clause in the constitution.

Represent their constituents. Vote the will of the majority of their constituents. If 51% of the constituents are evangelical Christians - vote their will. Don't you love democracy!
