Can you imagine if the Democrats said:
"We are going to shut down the government unless we get our Federal Gun Registry?"

"We are going to shut down the government unless Assault Weapons Are Banned?"

"We are going to shut down the government unless we get An $18 Minimum Wage?"

"We are going to shut down the government unless we get 100 Weeks of Unemployment Coverage"

Instead it's the Republicans saying:
"We are going to shut down the government unless ObamaCare is trashed."

Ridiculous.

I can't wait until 2014 when we can get a Republican elected to the House of Representatives
from our district.

Quinnipiac poll:

"Looking at the 2014 Congressional races, voters pick a generic Democrat over a generic
Republican candidate 43% to 34%,
the widest Democratic margin measured so far."

According to Politico, Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) "has privately warned House Republicans
that they could lose their majority in 2014 as a result of shutting down the government."

Imagine if Democrats said we'll shut down government if Congress doesn't get a pay raise...Oh yeah, they did, in 1976.  They shut down government over their PERSONAL greediness.

Quinnipiac poll:

American voters oppose Congress shutting down the federal government to block implementation
of Obamacare, 72% to 22%.
Voters also oppose blocking an increase in the nation's debt ceiling as a way to stop Obamacare,
64% to 27%.

“The government shutdown is an act of gross irresponsibility on the part of House
Republicans who are unwilling to accept the fact that 11 months ago, their vision for the
country was rejected by the majority of the American voters,” she said in a statement.

“A faction of Tea Party extremists is calling the shots in the GOP and these Republicans
apparently believe that their ideology is more important than the health of millions of
Americans who go without medical coverage. And they apparently believe it’s more
important than the health of the nation’s economy as well, which will suffer every day
that the government remains closed for business.”

Just let it fail?

Just let Obamacare fail = employment reduced to 29 hours, lose your doctor, premiums go up, standard of living goes down.

Just letting bad laws fail means knowing people will be harmed by the law while waiting for failure.  That means you are willing to sacrifice people for political gain.  I wouldn't elect somebody whose strategy was to wait around and let a law fail while I suffered the consequences of the failure.

You do realize that there is a possibility that Obamacare could actually help people that need it.

I said stop being speed bumps.

Let the man do what those who elected him, wanted him to try.

I said if it fails by his hand it's on him.

If it fails because speed bumps want to deny the voters their wishes, it's on them.

The Republicans are once again fighting for the corporations, not what the people voted for.

If they keep this up they will get what they deserve; a single payer government run health
care system where there will be no Cadillac Plans, no Gold Plans, no Silver Plans, just socialized
one size fits all.

Just let drug prohibition laws fail = millions of Americans incarcerated and inner cities turned into war zones.

This had to be done to justify maintaining the nationwide police network after prohibition 1 was repealed.

Even if they repealed all drug laws today, the undercover network of infiltrators and entrapment specialists
would simply be reassigned to target new victims for the corporate imprisonment network.

Just let the authorization to use force in Iraq = hundreds of thousands of innocent people dead or wounded.

Over 1000 Iraqis were killed last month, Sept. 2013. The war is still raging. They are killing more than the Syrians.

Quoted from CICERO

Just let the Patriot Act fail = the NSA collecting and storing electronic data of ALL Americans.

The patriot act and the big brother network serve only to keep the government safe from every person on Earth.

They will incarcerate the entire nation to keep themselves in charge.

The reason Obamacare was even thought up was to was to provide basic heath care insurance to those who
are victims of the government regulated and controlled corporate heath care system.

That, and to make the government bigger, stronger and millions more people dependent on them staying in power.

I don't understand how DVOR can comprehend the issue on a national level, yet supports the same actions on the local level.

We have state issued tax caps, that the council can merely ignore and vote to override it.

Local spending is limitless.

Federal is where he draws the line.

Of course he will NOT explain that.  Just like when evidence is provided to him, he REFUSES to speak on whatever issue.

I think the biggest HYPOCRITE on the face of the earth.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

You do believe in equal branches of government?  The same can be said about elected republicans, just let the House Republicans do what THEY were elected to do.  The president has no more authority than a congressman.  That is the separation of powers.

There is a possibility that every law passed will help SOME people, to the detriment of OTHERS.

I don't understand this wait and see mentality.  When did a presidential election become the holy grail of all elections.  Why bother voting in the 2010 election, if the presidential election drives policy?

Yes, and that is why there are 30 million in need of health care assistance.

The Republicans could have avoided the entire Obamacare development if they weren't so busy keeping
people from getting medical care.

It's not a wait and see, it's a let's try something besides exclusion.

The party of no, would never try to help those in need.

They forced Obama to go extreme.

Cooperation is forbidden.

Obama must fail.

It is their mission to destroy everything to make Obama look bad.

I'm sure that's what their voters wanted too.

But hoping the country fails so you can dance and cheer, and blame Obama, who they did
everything in their power to undermine,  is very despicable.

And not the American way.

What law is going to be passed that corrects the workers that had their hours reduced to 29 hours and forced onto the exchanges and lose their doctor?  Ahhh, that's politically insignificant because those adversely affect are less than the 30 million.  So what if your take home pay is less and you have to get a second job.  Thats good for business because it will drive down the cost of labor.

So a political calculation to screw some for the greater good is what America represents.

The republican solution was to allow for interstate competition for insurance companies, forcing them to compete on the open market and drive down prices.  The medical insurance industry is regulated to the point it's not affordable.
