Why not just post a copy of Karl Marx Communist Manifesto?
I thought the best part was universal child care. The state will pay to raise the children of the proletariats, as they go off to work to make their slave wage in order to pay their taxes and rents to the land owners.
I can't believe people still fantasize about these statist philosophies 100 years after it was tried and failed. |

Hey, you have to admit, at least there isn't an illusion of freedom in corporate prisons. |

I don't know anything about Canada's benefit or how it works, but I do believe that these well-intentioned ideas often have ways of backfiring. Young women often get roped into thinking that having as many kids as possible in as short a time period as possible is a viable career choice. People are ignoring this, because they get their backs up on the touchy subject and think it is about black teenagers, but white women have been doing this for years now, they have four or five kids with different fathers. Look at that colony that was in the news recently, the boyfriend burned the place up, that is the new family model. Then you see instances like the one on Eastern Avenue, the very sick young woman with two babies, living in the same building as a murderer. She was given just enough "help" to get herself into an awful situation she could not get out of. I'm not against "help", just government control and dependency disguised as "help". |

State funded child care to raise children away from the nuclear family so the parents can work is a communist principle. The goal should be a living wage that allows the parent to spend the most amount of time to raise the children. Two income household increases the labor force and drives down the cost of labor. There was a time in American history where one income was sufficient, and one of the biological parents raised the children. Now it is just the opposite for most. The schools and day cares raise the children, while the parents work to pay the taxes to have somebody else raise their kids. |

For the poor, the ones who need help with child care, working moms has always been a fact of life. For single moms, there is no other choice. |

that's why WIC is not MIC women infants children men infants children ooooooooo the fu(king luck at having WIC available....... in your entire sentence there are "poor, child, mom".....WOW....talk about an unbalanced equation....I'm not defending moms here either because there are choices, even if your neighbor doesn't like them. WIC seems to be a form of pay-off? restitution? what? |

5 Reasons Why We Love Labor Unions (1) Labor Unions Gave Us Our Childhoods
Quoted Text
Most of us idealize childhood and have fond memories of our youth. But our concept of “childhood” is a surprisingly recent one, made possible by your friendly, neighborhood labor union. Child labor was common for much of our history, partly through indentured servitude and slavery, and partly because children helped with their families’ farms or businesses. During the industrial revolution of the 1800’s, as work moved out of the home and into factories and coal mines, so did men, women, and their children. According to the Child Labor Education Project, children were particularly valued by factory owners (though not paid accordingly), because they were considered “manageable, cheaper, and less likely to strike.”
(2) Weekends And Leisure Time
Quoted Text
The idea of setting aside a day of rest is at least as old as God himself, who reportedly created the world in six days, rested on the seventh, and commanded via Moses that believers all do the same. But God didn’t give us weekends, 8-hour workdays, the 40-hour work week, and overtime pay. Unions did that.
(3) The Minimum Wage
Quoted Text
The minimum wage is a core accomplishment of the labor movement, though, alas, minimum wage hasn’t even come close to keeping up with inflation over the past 40 years. The Institute for America’s Future announced that 40% of Americans make less than 1968′s minimum wage, as measured in today’s dollars.
(4)A Safe Working Environment
Quoted Text
With the onset of the industrial revolution in the late 1700s, worker safety didn’t exist. American and European workers were routinely killed, disfigured, and disabled in factories, mines, and other work sites.
(5) Labor Unions Gave Us Health Insurance, Paid Vacations, And Fringe Benefits
Quoted Text
Pressure from Labor Unions also set the standards for work-related benefits like health insurance, paid vacations, pensions, sick time, family leave, and other benefits a majority of American workers once received from their jobs.

Labor unions GAVE the workers everything they could never get as individuals. Labor union - a confirmation of your slave status. You are nothing without your corporate masters and union bosses. Both will provide for you everything you need to live. |

I wonder if Senders or Cicero celebrated "Labor Day"? I wonder if they have weekends off or receive overtime pay if they worked weekends or holidays? I wonder if they have employer provided health care? or If they are safer in their workplace because of OSHA? I wonder if they consider "weekends" as a Union won benefit.
