Here's the thing, violent video games do have a negative effect on SOME susceptible individuals, but trying to ban those would involve inconveniencing a whole other class of people, the wealthy elites in the entertainment industry. They get a free pass. Gun owners are seen as a bunch of redneck men, so they should be punished anyway.
