This guy was naive, but would he have been able to rent a house out in a "high-crime area" for that much money if the government wasn't involved? I mean, the woman I know of who rents out apartments in not so great neighborhoods will not accept Section Eight. Some landlords won't accept it because the place has to be in very good repair at the beginning of the lease, and they are slumlords, but this woman keeps her places up. The catch is, she cannot charge the high rents she could get from Section Eight. This guy made a very poor decision when he paid that much for that house, apparently, that doesn't make him a bad person, but he made another bad decision when he thought the government was going to bail him out of it via a large amount of income from his property when no one with that much money would've rented it. Not mowing the lawn, if you don't want to ever stop by your property that makes you an absentee landlord. Would a woman who can't even take care of herself really take care of your house like you would? Would she even own a lawnmower? Not likely. The woman is to blame for the damage she did. No mistake about it. I'm just thinking, if he wouldn't live there himself, what was he thinking? I know some people renting out houses around here because they can't sell them, and even though they've screened tenants they still run into some problems because many people who rent just don't think about things related to property maintenance. If they wanted to think about those things they wouldn't be renting. You have to stop by or send your representative, and ask directly, are there any problems I can fix? |
