Quoted from Henry

Joking aside I know how you fear things you don't know anything about, if you didn't fear them you wouldn't of made 30 topics on the same subject over your time here. Its not that you fear guns you fear what I and others here stand for, you fear it because it might be a block towards your utopia and well... you would be right on that. You utopia functions on others being in control over others because you feel we as a people need masters, just like in the other thread.

Henry flunks Psychology 101... yet again!

Henry, seriously read this.  It explains a lot about your view of the world and your 'fear' (which
drives your need for guns).

Psychology Today:
Quoted Text
Peering inside the brain with MRI scans, researchers at University College London
found that self-described conservative students had a larger amygdala than liberals.
The amygdala is an almond-shaped structure deep in the brain that is active during states
of fear and anxiety.
Liberals had more gray matter at least in the anterior cingulate cortex, a region of the brain
that helps people cope with complexity.

See Henry.  It's your fear that makes you see the world this way.  When you discuss these
things with Liberals, you just prove that the study is correct.
Conservatives are much more FEARFUL!

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

I don't fear it because there is nothing to fear, I came to the conclusion long ago how I will live and how I want to live. I don't feel the need to have power over others unlike you, difference is I won't obey, that is what you fear.

Henry... you have no idea what I fear.
I live a secure life with little to fear.
I have no real fear of crime, though I know it is possible.
I have no real fear of dying, but I'd rather do it later rather than sooner.

I do fear for the future of the planet and how our actions impact future generations.

Funny!  Henry reads an article about liberal/conservative charitable giving, and believes every word,
because it fits his political agenda.

Henry reads an article about how Conservatives FEAR more than Liberals... and he disregards every
word, because it doesn't fit his agenda.

Propaganda works!

You do sometimes sound as if you fear people that suggest not complying with authority. You fear that people will stop listening to the established hierarchy.

Well Cissy... I can't help what you perceive  my posts to imply but you've shown in the past
that you often "get it wrong" so I'm not surprised that your assumptions are incorrect.

And as I wrote earlier because of YOUR fear you wish to force others to alter their lives because of it, even if they don't share the same fear you have. As cicero pointed out people like me who won't bow down and obey scare you.

I was it was as easy as 'passing a law' to fix these problems.  There are law about recycling but
many on this planet ignore them.

For the planet to survive it will take all 'earthlings' working together for a common good... the survival
of our common home.

The God Complex.  Box knows the common good for all of humanity.  That's just amazingly arrogant.  This comming from a guy who called Phil Roberson a bigot for expressing his belief that homosexuality wasn't good for all of humanity.  There is apparently a small group of people that have an omnipotent understanding what is good for all of humanity.  Box is one of those select few, Phil Robertson is not.

It makes no difference what YOU or what I think it means.  As a believer in the US Constitution
you KNOW that it's the job of the Supreme Court to interpret the meaning of US Amendments.

If "frightening" was illegal at the time... and carrying AR 15's is ruled to be "FRIGHTENING",
then, if the Supreme Court rules so, these weapons can be made illegal in keeping with
the meaning of the 2nd amendment!

Oh... and too damn bad if you don't like it!

it's the 'job' of the supreme court to interpret what they think society should be doing...JUST like the pharisees of old...

it's interpreting, just what your precious pope does with the bible.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

I posted my opinion... shared by many scientists:

I would think that even a nit picker like Cicero would agree that "the survival of the planet"
is a shared 'common good'.

Survival of the planet? What immanent threat is there that is going to destroy earth?

If I got rid of all my guns, will that help save the planet?

"The planet" is a rock.  It's been around for billions of years according to your scientists, there are billions of planets in the universe.  Regulating human behavior using force of laws has nothing to do with the planet, and has all to do with forcing your views of what it means "survival of the planet" onto everybody.  God complex.

Dinosaurs were on this planet for hundreds of millions of years... then they were gone.  They were
the dominant species on earth and except for a few species that evolved they all died out.
90% of all species that ever were are now extinct.  There is no reason to think that man is immune
from a similar fate.

As I stated above, I wish it were as easy as passing a few laws to save the planet, but I'm afraid
it's much more complicated than that.

The premise that the planet needs to be "saved" is beginning a debate based on a false premise.  The environmental "save the planet" crusaders are no different than the Jehovah Witness knocking on your door preaching salvation through Christ.  Both want you to change human behavior by threatening future consequences if behavior isn't changed, for a future will never be realized because it doesn't exist.
