Quoted from Henry

It meant everything for the defense of our country and it wasn't limited, the guns we used back then were still far superior to earlier examples of firearms before, so are you saying our founders didn't think gun technology would evolve down the road, are you really saying that.

The supreme court repeatedly states that the 2nd amendment is not an UNLIMITED RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS.

“Yes, there are some limitations that can be imposed.”  “What they are will depend on what the
society understood was reasonable limitation” when the Constitution was written.
Scalia cited, for example, a misdemeanor at the time, of carrying a frightening
looking weapon such as a “head ax”.
(Today's AR15)

Justice Scalia on the 2nd amendment:
Like most rights, the Second Amendment right is not unlimited.
It is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner
whatsoever and for whatever purpose
: For example, concealed weapons
prohibitions have been upheld under the Amendment or state analogues.
The Court’s opinion should not be taken to cast doubt on longstanding
prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill,
or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as
schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications
on the commercial sale of arms. [United States v.] Miller’s holding that the
sorts of weapons protected are those “in common use at the time” finds
support in the historical tradition of prohibiting the carrying of dangerous
and unusual weapons.

Justice Antonin Scalia

You always bring up Scalia, box nobody gives a sh*t what he says, the document is clear and there was no "buts" in the language, our 2nd amendment is a natural right, to damn bad if you don't like it.

It makes no difference what YOU or what I think it means.  As a believer in the US Constitution
you KNOW that it's the job of the Supreme Court to interpret the meaning of US Amendments.

Quoted Text
During an appearance on "Fox News Sunday," Scalia was asked whether lawmakers
have the right to ban high-capacity gun magazines without violating a person's constitutional
right to bear arms. The question comes less than two weeks after the Colorado shooting
massacre that left 12 dead and dozens more injured -- and at a time when neither President
Barack Obama nor Congress appear willing to touch the issue of gun control.

"We'll see," Scalia said, suggesting that future court cases will determine what limitations
on modern-day weapons are permissible.

"Some undoubtedly are [permissible] because there were some that were acknowledged
at the time" the Constitution was written, Scalia said. He cited a practice from that era
known as "frighting," where people "carried around a really horrible weapon just to scare
people, like a head axe or something. That was, I believe, a misdemeanor."

“So yes, there are some limitations that can be imposed," Scalia said. "What they are will
depend on what the society understood were reasonable limitations at the time."

If "frightening" was illegal at the time... and carrying AR 15's is ruled to be "FRIGHTENING",
then, if the Supreme Court rules so, these weapons can be made illegal in keeping with
the meaning of the 2nd amendment!

Oh... and too damn bad if you don't like it!

Their job is to protect it as a last measure and as history shown they have failed at almost every amendment in the constitution.

I don't have to like it but for damn sure you or no fckg pig is going to stop me from believing or acting on my rights, they will see 1st hand what the 2nd is for if they try, So again f*** you if you don't like it, if you had the balls you would act but we know you won't because you are a coward.

As I posted above, It doesn't matter what YOU or I think... The founding fathers established
these laws and the supreme court interprets them.

At the end of the day what you or I think is what matters, I don't need others to think for me which I guess you find hard to grasp. You find me threatening even though I never hurt anyone before, you find me threatening because others want you to believe I'm threatening. And what is the reason for that feeling, because I won't bow down to others, because I'm willing to stand for what I believe in, maybe because I won't allow others to tell me what MY rights are. You can cave in and allow others control of your life, that is your right, you have no right to make me cave because of your fears.

Joking aside I know how you fear things you don't know anything about, if you didn't fear them you wouldn't of made 30 topics on the same subject over your time here. Its not that you fear guns you fear what I and others here stand for, you fear it because it might be a block towards your utopia and well... you would be right on that. You utopia functions on others being in control over others because you feel we as a people need masters, just like in the other thread.
