I'm a believer in the views of the Hemlock Society (now called Compassion & Choices).
Once again... Cicero falls on his face.  Is Cissy Ever Right About Anything???
Possibly... but I doubt it!

Then why are you concerned about gun suicides?

Come on Cicero.  You really aren't that dumb are you???
ARE YOU???

Suicides are all not alike.  Guns are an easy out for many suicides especially for men (or boys).
There are suicides by terminally ill, very sick, and suffering people with no hope of a recovery.
There are suicides by 16 year old boys who shoot themselves because a girl dumped them.
SEE VERY DIFFERENT SCENARIOS.
There have been studies that show in cases like this 16 year old... if a weapon was not present
and easily accessible, they would have never committed suicide.  Lots of teen or early 20's suicides
are a spur of the moment decision, and if interrupted, they never kill themselves.

In the case of the terminally ill, there should be an easier way to end their life than a gun.
In the case of a teen age boy who was dumped... the easily accessible  presence of a gun
is the impetus for their death.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Ya' can always tell a GunHugger, but ya' can't tell em' much!

Quoted Text
A 51-year-old Michigan woman shot herself in the face after pulling a shotgun to
“make a point” during an argument.

According to Michigan Live, police in Fremont Township responded to reports of a gunshot
victim around 10:00 a.m. on Monday.

The Tuscola County Sheriff’s Department said that in the midst of a family dispute, the
woman pounded the butt of the shotgun against the floor, causing it to discharge, striking
her in the face.

The woman informed officers she had pulled the gun to “make a point.”

She was airlifted to St. Mary’s of Michigan Hospital in Saginaw and is expected to recover
from her injuries. Police are investigating the incident, but no charges have been filed.

I took care of a teenage boy who tried to commit suicide by hanging (because of a girl, a different argument)
and he did not succeed, he was interrupted.... he should have used a gun....

trach
tube feeding
sh!tting and pissing his pants
contractures (not preventable with neuro damage)
drugs galore
drooling all over himself
etc etc etc......

mother came in day after day after day after day.........she wasn't guilty, just very very very sad...it's a continuous
grieving.....

So is stupid with a knife, car, alcohol, drugs, heavy machinery, politicians, and almost most activities in our daily life, although we allow them because some are worth the risk and we don't want to be babied through life, well some of us that is.

They usually join the military or police force.  A more organized threat, and on a larger scale.

WOW!  You even support regulations for killing yourself.  I forget, you know everybody's "self interests".

Stupid with a car?  Yea we regulate that.  DWI, reckless driving, mandatory vision tests, mandatory
insurance, testing before issuing a license... We take reasonable precautions.
With Guns?  All you need is the money to pay the NRA bosses.

Yes, suicides are all alike.  Somebody wants to kill themselves.  Just like everything else, you want to control when, where, who, and how it's done.

And even with all that they still kill or injure about the same, amazing isn't it.
