Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't mass shootings banned?

OK. To my knowledge, there is no law specifically banning mass shootings.

I guess the first step to stopping mass shootings is to make them illegal.

Not to GunHuggers:
Don't Shoot Your Girlfriend!

A 22-year-old Washington woman is suffering from a potentially life threatening gunshot wound
after her boyfriend ‘accidentally' shot her in the abdomen while he was preparing to clean his gun.

Officers and medics rushed to the residence and found the woman with a wound to her stomach.

The woman was rushed to Tacoma General Hospital and medics say her injuries are potentially
life-threatening.

The genius boyfriend gunsplained to police that he accidentally shot his girlfriend as he was
preparing to clean a semi-automatic pistol. The victim confirmed the story to officers before
being transported to the hospital.

Officers say the boyfriend was extremely distraught and is cooperating with the investigation,
according to KOMO News.

It's not clear yet as to whether the unidentified 21-year-old boyfriend will face charges or not.

How does that go again: Never point a gun at anything or anyone unless it is your absolute
intention to pull the trigger. Treat your gun as if it is always loaded.

Do not fire if there is anyone or anything next to or behind your target that you are not willing
to hit.

This one is important: Do not shoot your girlfriend.

Responsible GunHuggers?

3-Year-Old Texas Toddler Shoots Himself In The Head
While Playing With Grandpa's Gun

According to detectives, the grandparents were babysitting the boy and said they had
put him down for a nap in the master bedroom.

"When they went in to check on him, he had apparently located a .380 semiautomatic
pistol that was in the bedroom and had apparently accidentally shot himself in the head,"
said Sgt. Ben Beall.

According to detectives, it appears as if the loaded pistol had been left on the nightstand
next to the bed where the child was napping.

Detectives said if that's true, the grandparents could face a misdemeanor charge of making
a firearm accessible to a child.
A misdemeanor for a child being shot in the head. That'll learn 'em!
The charge can result in a fine and up to a year in jail.

Guns 'Disproportionately Owned' By Those Prone To Angry,
Impulsive Behavior

(No News Here)

Quoted Text
If you already have an anger management problem, it's not going to help if you have
easy access to guns:

The more guns you own the more likely you are to be subject to angry outbursts that
you cannot control.

This conclusion about Americans and their guns comes from a study published this
week in the journal Behavioral Sciences. Researchers found that some 9 percent of
people in the United States have both guns and significant anger issues.

"The new research also indicates that the 310 million firearms estimated to be in private
hands in the United States are disproportionately owned by people who are prone to angry,
impulsive behavior and have a potentially dangerous habit of keeping their guns close at
hand," the Los Angeles Times reports. "That's because people owning six or more guns
were more likely to fall into both of these categories than people who owned a single gun."

That title and conclusion by the LA Times are both a misrepresentation of the actual study.

The title from the study itself:
Guns, Impulsive Angry Behavior, and Mental Disorders:
Results from the National Comorbidity Survey Replication

From the study itself:
Quoted Text
Analyses from the National Comorbidity Study Replication provide the first
nationally representative estimates of the co-occurrence of impulsive angry behavior
and possessing or carrying a gun among adults with and without certain mental
disorders and demographic characteristics. The study found that a large number of
individuals in the United States self-report patterns of impulsive angry behavior and
also possess firearms at home (8.9%) or carry guns outside the home (1.5%).
These data document associations of numerous common mental disorders and
combinations of angry behavior with gun access. Because only a small proportion
of persons with this risky combination have ever been involuntarily hospitalized for
a mental health problem, most will not be subject to existing mental health-related
legal restrictions on firearms resulting from a history of involuntary commitment

Impulse Anger Behavior (could be a symptom of a mental disorder) and Mental disorders: Sounds like we have a mental health care crisis on our hands, and a problem keeping guns out of the hands of those with mental issues.

Is it possible that those mass shootings are being perpetrated by those with Mental issues? Could it be that all of these laws like the safe act are doing nothing to keep the guns out of the hands of the mentally damaged individuals. That is of course excluding the news of the children who were shot because people they knew or trusted didn't safely store their firearms, for all we know those people are mentally deficient too.

In a land where self justification for taking lives, laws are meaningless.

America is now the land of killing of anyone as long as you feel it is justified.

Trickle down self justification is learned behavior.

Tell the government to stop preaching self justification.
