It's a strange way of looking at life Henry.  I view all men (women) as equals.  Some have more or less
authority (such as a congressman voting on a bill but I can't, or the skill of a downhill ski racer being more skilled
than I am at skiing) but as people... we are equal.  All with the same rights, the same responsibility.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

The fact that you think there would be chaos without some higher authority is funny

My discussion of Anarchists stated that they desire chaos...
Upon looking up the definition of Anarchy, I find that one definition IS CHAOS!

anarchy
1.     general lawlessness and disorder, esp when thought to result from an absence or failure of government
2.     the absence or lack of government
3.     the absence of any guiding or uniting principle; disorder; chaos
4.     the theory or practice of political anarchism

My post seems to be accurate on the subject.   Possibly yours is in error!

That's all fine and dandy, congress can pass any bill they wish it doesn't mean I will obey their authority. I won't obey any order I have not agreed to personally, it doesn't mean I'm out to make trouble I simply live my life the way I wish. Some might not like the way I live and would like to change or alter how I live, they can try but I would not obey. They may try force but again I will not bow down to them, in the end they can only take one thing from me, when I don't fear that they truly have nothing over me.

I suggest that you look into anarchy more, while I'm not an anarchist completely I agree with many anarchist beliefs, it isn't nothing to fear.

So if I had that same perspective, and I refused to obey... say ... stop signs.  I would put others lives
in danger but that is my right.  LOL.
Kind of brings us back to Chaos.  If everyone decided that stop signs were optional, then chaos would
ensue.  But people like Henry seem to feel that they don't need to obey any authority... so every
stop sign would be a demo derby.

Great system!

Why do you believe people would run them on purpose? It would be in their interest to drive safely, would you run them if you knew police were not present?

So our safety on the road means that we all have the same values about running a stop sign.  You seem
to accept that everyone can make up their own minds about running a stop sign.
If they feel that it 'infringes on their freedom' then they can run the sign and ignore the obvious safety
issue.

It's their choice?
Or is it just YOUR CHOICE?

People can make up their minds today if they want to run one or not, have you ever ran a red light when no cars were around for miles, you probably have but you probably double checked all directions. The law didn't stop you from running it, that was your choice.

Of course it's my choice.  It was Zimmerman's choice to murder Martin.
We all make choices and we all have to deal with the results of those choices.
When you make the choice to break the law you should be ready to accept the consequences.
No whining about the cops or pissin about 'your rights' when they give you a ticket.!

So you did do what I stated, difference is did you do it while not giving a crap about others safety or did you do so why making sure others were not in harms way. You make it seem as if you or me would go on a killing spree if it weren't for cops, I am simply saying humans are more compassionate then that and cops play no role when it comes to our behavior.

If there were no cops... you wouldn't be as vigilant when running that stop sign.  Not being as vigilant
would risk innocent people's lives.

Yea with no cops, many more would die because of people like you who think that laws don't apply to you.

Those who would infringe on others safety are already doing it with or without a law, if there was no laws or cops today I wouldn't rob or steal or kill, I would live the way I'm doing so right now. Would you rob or steal from someone if cops were not around? yes or no.

That has to be the most bizarre thing I've ever read.  The dummy George Bush invaded Iraq and killed hundreds of thousands of people is the same as Lindsy Vaughn the olympic skier.  Are you saying since Lindsy Vaughn is a better skier than you, that she can send you to die in war?  Weird...

The word anarchy comes from the Greek word anarkhia, which means lack of a leader, the state of people without a government. It doesn't mean chaos.

Main Entry: an·ar·chy
Pronunciation: \ˈa-nər-kē, -ˌnär-\
Function: noun
Etymology: Medieval Latin anarchia, from Greek, from anarchos having no ruler, from an- + archos ruler — more at arch-
Date: 1539
1 a : absence of government b : a state of lawlessness or political disorder due to the absence of governmental authority c : a society of individuals who enjoy complete freedom without government 2 a : absence or denial of any authority or established order b : absence of order : disorder 3 : anarchism
