A landmark federal study on smoking once showed no evidence that smoking is harmful.

Failure to find proof is sometimes simply incompetence.

There have been NO studies that have actually found that DEEP WELL fracking contaminates ground water.  No evidence.  The scientific method REQUIRES that there be some evidence to back up a theory or proposition.  Since there is absolutely no evidence to prove that DEEP WELL fracking contaminates ground water than one logically has to say that the science shows that it does not.   Science is on the side of the the pro-fracking community.

The scientific method REQUIRES that there be some evidence to back up a theory or proposition.

The burden of proof is on the frackers, not the opposition.

There have been NO studies that have actually found that DEEP WELL fracking absolutely will not contaminates ground water.

Fracking is the process of drilling down into the earth before a high-pressure water mixture is directed at the rock to release
the gas inside. Water, sand and chemicals are injected into the rock at high pressure which allows the gas to flow out to the
head of the well.

How exactly does one inject chemical laced water into the ground without contaminating ground water?

Failure to find proof is sometimes simply incompetence, or bias.

First, there have been numerous studies that have actually proven that deep well fracking does NOT contaminate ground water -- that is what this latest studies also says.

Second, they are send the chemicals down through reinforced steel pipes about a mile into the ground (the depth of the Grand Canyon) -- the fluids are not going to leach through the walls of the pipe.

Third, every 1st grader knows that water/fluids flow(s) downhill so if the ground water is 3/4 of a mile or more ABOVE where the natural gas is ... there is no way that the fluids are going to magically rise 3/4 of a mile into the ground water.

Fourth, your repeated comments about failure to find proof is ridiculous because the proof is that it (deep well fracking) has been done over and over again ... and over and over again there has been no contamination of ground water.   THAT IS THE PROOF.

The anti-frackers repeating the same, old disproven LIES over and over again shows incompetence, ignorance and a lack of integrity.

DUKE UNIV STUDY:

“We analyzed 141 drinking waterwells across the Appalachian Plateaus physiographic province of northeastern Pennsylvania, examining natural gas concentrations and isotopic signatures with proximity to shale gas wells. Methane was detected in 82% of drinking water samples, with average concentrations six times higher for homes” less than one kilometer from the fracked natural gas wells.

And what environmentalist extremist rag has the Duke study appeared in?

The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences … a peer reviewed journal, founded in 1915.

And Duke University is backing the research; as press release notes, “They found that, on average, methane concentrations were six times higher and ethane concentrations were 23 times higher at homes within a kilometer of a shale gas well.  Propane was detected in 10 samples, all of them from homes within a kilometer of drilling.

“The methane, ethane and propane data, and new evidence from hydrocarbon and helium content, all suggest that drilling has affected some homeowners’ water,” said Robert B. Jackson, a professor of environmental sciences at Duke’s Nicholas School of the Environment.  “In a minority of cases the gas even looks Marcellus-like, probably caused by poor well construction.”

This is a 1987 report to Congress by the Environmental Protection Agency that deals with waste from the exploration, development and production of oil, natural gas and geothermal energy. It states that hydraulic fracturing, also called fracking, can cause groundwater contamination. It cites as an example a case in which hydraulic fracturing fluids contaminated a water well in West Virginia. The report also describes the difficulties that sealed court settlements created for investigators.

I think you need to read the report VERY CAREFULLY -- the report you are citing is talking about SHALLOW WELLS .. and NOT  ... DEEP WELLS.

deep
/dēp/
Adjective
Extending far down from the top or surface: "a deep gorge".

shal·low
/ˈSHalō/
Adjective
Of little depth.

You may notice that there is a difference in the meaning  between DEEP and SHALLOW.

And so far, the studies have all shown that DEEP well fracking does NOT contaminate ground water.

The video I posted #4 is of a 'deep well' that didn't go as expected...
the drill point broke through the surface.

There is nothing to prove the credibility of the video.  Many videos alleging some "catastrophe" from DEEP Well fracking have been circulated online that have later been proven to be staged.

Oh --- and a video is not a scientific study.  To date, no scientific study has shown evidence that DEEP well fracking in any way contaminates ground water.

Yes, by all means try to comprehend when reading entire article next time:
Quoted Text
2.The USEPA issued a draft report in 2011 on groundwater contamination in Pavillion, Wyoming, that showed extensive presence of fracking chemicals (natural and synthetic) in shallow and deep groundwater systems. Some of this contamination may have resulted from faulty wells drilled through groundwater aquifers; some of it may have resulted from surface seepage of fracking waste fluids escaping from badly designed and managed wastewater pits.

Quoted from CICERO
Natural gas isn't tied to the US dollar.  Oil is tied to the dollar, through the petrol-dollar agreement Nixon signed with OPEC.  If the market was flooded with natural gas, and nations bought natural gas as an alternative choice of energy, the dollar would collapse.  The only thing keeping our economy from going into hyperinflation is the fact that the world MUST buy oil with US dollars.  Anti fracking propaganda is to protect the dollar.  Nothing more.  Same reason there is little success with electric and hydrogen powered cars.  Oil is the life blood of our economy, the more demand for oil, the more demand for dollars(essentially buying our debt).  You try to trade your oil in something other than dollars, the US will crush you.(see Libya and now Iran/Syria)

Besides, I'm sure SI has very nice containments for their chemicals and crap while doing business over the municipal socialist
water supply...

For me, the bottom line is that the REAL science shows that DEEP well fracking is safe, and the US needs cut the "pipeline" from the Middle East and be energy independent.  This is a super critical issue on so many levels.  Therefore, any politician who is opposed to DEEP well fracking will NOT receive my support or my vote.
