Obama will have to decide whether to challenge state law regulating abortion, moving him to the left while giving the right and independents an issue to coalece around. This is common sense legislation on a state level(a phrase the left used to attempt to regulate the 2nd Amendment).

If a 20 week old fetus can survive outside the womb with medical advancements in technology, an abortion may consist of removing the fetus alive and caring for it outside the womb. This takes away the Roe v Wade justification that a woman cannot be forced to carry a baby full term. Now she won't be forced, the pregnancy can be terminated while preserving the life of the baby. It's a win-win. If pro choicers' oppose that, then they just look like baby killers. Now it's not about a right to their body but their right to kill the life in their body.
