I disagree with much of what so called "libertarians" believe and promote.  Paul Groupies don't
seem to understand why any patriotic American wouldn't support the Pauls.
This article can explain it better than I can:

(Excerpts)

Quoted Text
Why do the Pauls have such a problem again and again getting tied up with
neo-Confederates and borderline white supremacists? It goes to the heart of what
contemporary libertarianism is - or to put it more precisely, how there are very different
movements and political agendas operating under that one label.

Quoted Text
The idea that there is a ideological divide or set of philosophical questions
or priorities that makes some libertarians embrace the Confederacy and secession
and despise Abraham Lincoln while others do not is, to put it generously, nonsense.
Neo-Conderates, pro-secessionists, whatever else you want to call them are varying
hues of white supremacists or to put it even more simply, racists. That’s not an accusation.
It’s simply identifying them as a distinct political strain in American politics.

They may not be violent or actively call for legal discrimination against blacks or
other non-whites. It’s also not wholly bound up with the racial polarity of whites
and blacks. It also feeds off related but not identical nativist traditions in US
politics, which adds an additional dose of conspiracy thinking and paranoia about
the government being in the hands of sinister alien forces. But let’s not kid ourselves.
That is what neo-Confederacy and all the rest of it are about, a vision of white
supremacy expressed through a retrospective embrace of the Confederacy and the
racial mores of the Jim Crow era. No one familiar with this phenomenon can question this.

Quoted Text
Who knows what’s in their hearts and frankly who cares? But none of this latest
stuff should surprise us. And I don’t know why real libertarians waste any time making
any sort of common cause with these folks. ‘Neo-Confederacy’ isn’t some outgrowth of
or logical deduction from libertarianism. You’re a neo-Confederate because you believe
in white supremacy. People who just can’t figure why good upstanding libertarians keep
ending up finding themselves connected up with people who really don’t seem to like
black people or Hispanics and believe in weird conspiracy theories about black helicopters
stealing your lawn furniture really need to reread that Onion article.

I don't condone or defend the site... The article explains much of what some on this board are blind
to... The Libertarian movement in America today has definite racist overtones and the Paul Groupies
seem blind to that fact.

I wanted an outsiders view who has a much better grasp of the situation than I do, to explain the issue
in a way that maybe the Groupies can understand.   The RP Groupies discard my opinion as they reject
my politics.
There is a real reason that the rest of America rejects the Paul twins, and this article explains
much of it.

(I'm sorry that you couldn't get past John Edwards posts... Perhaps you could have learned something.)

Is this from "the onion", it made me laugh.

No. It referred to another article in the Onion.
Why not read the entire article.  You often seem mystified as to why so many Americans reject the
Paul Twins.  What are you afraid of?  Read it.  I doubt it will convince you to change your politics, but
it may inform you of why so much of America sees these Libertarians as Fringe Candidates and not
serious contenders.

Why should I read something for a group that couldn't even be elected dog catcher, I'm wondering what you fear from this .01%

Boxy is confusing Libertarianism with Progressive socialism.

As I just posted on the other thread... My interest is driven by the board and my overall interest in all US
politics.

As a Republican the .01% candidate can have an impact on who is elected to Republican Primaries.
Voters turn out to vote in elections, but they can only vote for the candidates chosen in party primaries.
Parties, or political movements have a huge impact on who runs and who wins in Primaries.
TeaBaggers can influence WHO runs in a primary by funding (Koch Bros) or endorsing a particular
candidate thereby eliminating an actual valid candidate in the actual election.

Paul's allegiance or opposition to a Republican in a Republican Primary may have much more than his
.01% votes.

Is this your summary on why the American democracy is illegitimate and election results don't represent the majority?  It's pretty good, glad to see you've come around.  I knew you had some logic in that partisan head of yours.  You're a little biased with the Koch Bros. reference, since tons of Soros money influences the Democrat primaries in the same way.  I know you think the Democrat Party and left wing activism is pure as wind driven snow, it isn't.

There is nothing to learn there.  It's an opinion piece written by a statist about how people that don't worship Abe Lincoln are white supremacists, and making a word up like 'neo confederates' to label anybody that believes in state's rights.  And if you believe in states' rights, you must want the federal government out of your state so you can enslave black people.

So if you believe in states’ rights, if you believe in the letter of the constitution, and if you believe Abe Lincoln waged war on the south illegally killing hundreds of thousands - you must be a racist.

putting an ethnic group into the 'help by government champions' category is ALSO racist.....the pendulum swings both
ways. do not think the lefties aren't users of their fellow humans for their own advancement.
I'm not defending either side just proving that your washcloth isn't any cleaner.

If you think that Soros and Koch bros are on the same level you're naive.

Check out the anti ObamaCare adds that Koch is funding.  Soros does put his money where his values
are, but no where on the scale to the Koch Bros.  Face it... the rich are Republican and so even if
every Democrat gave 2% of his income to his favorite progressive causes, it wouldn't equal  1%
of Republican income.

The money is and has for my lifetime been on the side of the Republicans.  I assume that you'd agree.

Lots of Europeans are afraid of freedom. They came here and their offspring continue to try to find a way to return to serfdom as soon as possible. They have succeeded for the most part.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
