On Monday Rush Limbaugh told a caller to stop watching Fox News, particularly the network’s panel discussions, which he said are “designed to get you ticked off.”
“You know, you need to stop watching these people, because they’re not going to change, Tony,” Limbaugh said. “I really care. You’ve got to stop watching these people.” “All these names you mention, they’re not going to change,” he went on. “And you’re exactly right, if all of this were happening with a Republican president — which it wouldn’t, it couldn’t by definition, we don’t believe in these policies — but if it were, you’re right. They’d be raising holy hell about it. They’d be calling the president cold-hearted, mean, extremist, exclusionary. The rich, they’d be all over a Republican president. But that isn’t gonna change.”
“So your blood pressure is going to suffer if you keep watching these people,” Limbaugh added. “They’re designed to get you ticked off. They’re designed to make you question your sanity. You’re gonna watch these people and say, ‘How in the world can we have such idiotic people?’ And you’re gonna thing maybe they’re not and you’re crazy. And I assure you, Tony, you’re not. Trust me on that.”

Cable news hosts are the second biggest scumbags only after politicians. That is why it is natural for former politicians to end up as cable news hosts.
That's probably a good thing. Real news just upsets you and causes irrational outbursts. I'm sure your doctor will agree.

Former MSNBC producer slams network for playing lapdog to Obama 1:31 PM 07/08/2013 A former MSNBC producer slammed the cable news network for its deference to the Obama administration Monday, calling it the “official network of the Obama White House” in an op-ed posted on the Huffington Post.
Jeff Cohen served as a senior producer on Phil Donahue’s MSNBC show from 2002 to 2003, when it was canceled for being overly critical of the Bush administration’s case for war in Iraq. Cohen went on to support a variety of liberal causes, including the 2004 Dennis Kucinich presidential campaign.
The cable news veteran excoriated the network, which has fallen to last in the ratings, for muzzling its criticism of recently revealed government surveillance programs. Ads by Google
“When it comes to issues of U.S. militarism and spying, the allegedly ‘progressive’ MSNBC often seems closer to the ‘official network of the Obama White House’ than anything resembling an independent channel,” Cohen said.
Cohen blasted MSNBC for hypocritically defending the same abuses it once criticized President George W. Bush for committing, most grievously in the case of National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden. Cohen pointed to Snowden as the latest example in a long trend of extreme prosecution of whistle-blowers by the Obama White House.
“Had McCain or Romney defeated Obama and implemented the exact same policies, treating whistle-blowers like Manning and Snowden as foreign espionage agents, one would expect MSNBC hosts to be loudly denouncing the Republican abuses of authority.”
The reality has been far different, however. While the White House has gone after whistle-blowers on a scale never seen before, according to Cohen, MSNBC pundits have either been silent or vigorous supporters of the policy.
From Rachel Maddow to Ed Schultz, Cohen called out a who’s who of MSNBC talking heads for their White House friendly rhetoric on the Snowden case. While Schultz simply labeled the leaker a “punk” and a “coward,” host Melissa Harris-Perry claimed Snowden proved he didn’t “love [his] country” when he failed to give himself up for trial.
Yup Donahue was canceled for speaking out, that's when the majority of the left supported the wars, only to turn on it when they found out it could be useful to get a dem in office, once in the wars continued but their outraged stopped
