DVOR knee jerk reaction gets him every time.

Read my post. I PRAISED GWB for his immigration platform... it was the TeaBaggers and Conservatives
that scuttled his immigration plan.

My comment stands as written as a general commentary on you and your way of thinking.

Boxy said that Morsi won with 51.7% of the vote, but it looks like 100% don't want to live under Islamic Law. I'm also very sure that the 200k Coptic Christians that were run out are cheering wildly somewhere and are looking to come home to a more secular and tolerant government.

Are you celebrating a military coup?

I don't believe Egypt's military is looking to control the country. If it was, it could have done it a LONG time ago, as it is pretty much a separate entity from the rest of the government and has been for many years.

While I don't celebrate most any military coup, I do relish in the fact that the people rejected the notion of being ruled by Islamic Law and under the heel of another dictator.

Just like when Mubarak fell, the military stepped in as a stabilizing force.

They apparently DO control the country.  One year ago the Muslim Brotherhood was elected into power, and one year later we are to believe public opinion has done a 180 and the Muslim Brotherhood is no longer a viable political party.  That is the most rapid political change I think I've ever witnessed, except for when the US violently over throws governments like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya.  Egypt will suffer the same fate, years and years of terror bombings by the Muslim Brotherhood.  They become more violent when they do not have a seat at the political table.

Mubarek and Sadat, while they were dictators, served at the pleasure of the military, and generally were popular with the Egyptian people.  It was only towards the ends of their regimes that they began losing popular support.  Sadat was shown the exit door by way of grenades and bullets.  Mubarek was able to avoid that kind of exitbut exit he did nonetheless.
The worrisome part of this whole situation in Egypt is that Obama bet ON THE WRONG SIDE and we could end up losing a strategic ally in the region.  As I said way back in 2007, Obama wasn't prepared to be president and 4 1/2 years in office hasn't made him any wiser or skilled at functioning in that office.

NONE of them, past and present, have EVER been QUALIFIED, so to say.

The only qualification needed to be the leader of a country.....is having the ability to be a sock puppet.

He didn't bet on the wrong side, he was pressured by Israel to correct the election results.  The fact that the Saudis came out and welcomed the new leader tells me this was orchestrated by the Israelis.  Obama didn't protect Mubarak when Isreal wanted him protected, he didn't intervene in Syria when Assad allegedly crossed the "red line".  He apponted Hagel against the wishes of the Israel lobby.  And right after that, Obama was hit with scandal after scandal - not a coincidence.  Obama is complying with those who control the office of president when it comes to Middle East policy - that's Israel.

In Egypt, U.S. draws ire from both sides
By Sarah Lynch, Special for USA TODAY 3:06 p.m. EDT July 4, 2013

CAIRO – A banner screaming "Wake Up America" hung Thursday in Tahrir Square, the heart of the 2011 revolution and center of much of the latest unrest that has erupted across the capital this week.

"Obama supports terrorism," says another massive sign -- again underscoring widespread anger and blame directed at the U.S. president as Egypt staggers through a troubled change of leadership.

It was a frantic day in Cairo that saw Egypt's top judge sworn in as the nation's interim president. Military leaders pressed a crackdown on leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamist party of deposed leader Mohammed Morsi. Both sides accused the U.S. of having a hand in the turmoil rocking the country.

The widespread perception rumbling through anti-Morsi crowds is that President Obama has been in bed with the Muslim Brotherhood, said Shadi Hamid, director of research for the Brookings Doha Center.

"Some of it was inevitable," Hamid said, because the U.S. must to work with elected governments and wanted to have a productive relationship with Morsi. "That's standard U.S. policy."

Moreover, anyone who came out vocally in support of the electoral process here was accused of backing the Brotherhood, because the organization typically did so well in elections, he said.

The belief that Obama has backed Morsi is obvious at Tahrir Square, just one meeting place for Morsi opponents who flooded the streets over the past four days, demanding his resignation and calling for new elections.

"We really feel so bad because of Obama," said Adly Hassan, 60. "He supports Morsi and the Egyptian people are really upset."

U.S. Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson is also drawing ire in the square, where posters feature a huge red "X" over her face.

In the lead-up to massive demonstrations that kicked off June 30, Patterson gave a speech that intensified anger at Washington, analysts said. Patterson said she sought "to set the record straight" and that she and the U.S. government are "deeply skeptical" that "street action will produce better results than elections."

"Egypt needs stability to get its economic house in order, and more violence on the streets will do little more than add new names to the lists of martyrs," she said in a June 18 speech. "Instead, I recommend Egyptians get organized. Join or start a political party that reflects your values and aspirations. Egyptians need to know a better path forward."

But Egyptians rose up across the country starting Sunday, with tens of thousands rallying in the streets and effectively ousting Morsi when the nation's military imposed a transitional plan Wednesday. On Thursday, Adly Mansour was sworn in as the nation's interim president after Egypt's army suspended the nation's constitution, called for fresh elections and arrested Morsi and other Brotherhood leaders.

"Obama should listen to us and understand the Egyptian people," said protester Noha El Amroussi. "Obama should learn from the Egyptians."

In a statement Wednesday, Obama said the U.S. is "deeply concerned by the decision of the Egyptian Armed Forces to remove President Morsi and suspend the Egyptian constitution" – words likely to spur more anger among the opposition.

"I now call on the Egyptian military to move quickly and responsibly to return full authority back to a democratically elected civilian government as soon as possible through an inclusive and transparent process, and to avoid any arbitrary arrests of President Morsi and his supporters," he said.

Obama also said that relevant departments and agencies will review implications for U.S. assistance to Egypt, which totals $1.6 million in annual aid, the bulk of which goes to the military.

Morsi supporters also had issues with U.S. involvement. Outside a Cairo mosque, Morsi backer Mohamed Ibrahim denounced what he called "American intervention" in Egypt's affairs and said the "military coup" was supported by the U.S., which wanted the old regime back in power because of Israeli interests.

"It's because of the Zionists and the Israelis, that is why America is supporting this coup," Ibrahim said.

Salah Abdallah, a supporter of Morsi who lives in the Nile Delta, said Obama should have done more to keep Morsi in power, given that Morsi came to power through the polls.

"They are supposed to defend the democratic regime," Abdallah said. "We are not extremists. We respect all kinds of people."

For all the controversy, don't expect the new leadership to push the U.S. away, some experts said.

Egyptian military leaders "need to be allied with this superpower because the economy isn't strong enough for Egypt to be fully independent in its foreign policy," said Firas Abi Ali, a Middle East and North Africa analyst at IHS in London. "They find themselves reliant on the Gulf, aid from the American allies, and the support of the U.S. and the IMF."

‘Egypt must now throw off Zionist yoke’
in Breaking News 2 hours ago

A political analyst says Egypt must rid itself of the domination of the Zionist regime of Israel, which has been plaguing the Middle East, or it will face secession and be lost, Press TV reports.

In an article published on Press TV website on Thursday, co-founder of the Global Justice Movement, Rodney Shakespeare, said Egyptians are well aware that their overthrow of the Western-backed dictator Hosni Mubarak did not result in a genuine revolution as it failed to end Western and Zionist control, which continued under Mohamed Morsi in a different form.

Egypt must express the will of millions in the Middle East or it will continue to be controlled and crushed. It must throw off the Zionist yoke or it will be forever unable to resist the expansion of the Zionist entity into the lands of others,” Shakespeare wrote in his article.

He further warned Egypt against the sectarian plots by Israel, the US, and their regional allies in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Shakespeare also cautioned that Egyptians™ failure in moving forward in a democratic course will put them under permanent control of “Western finance capitalism.”

The expert called on the Egyptian nation to build a democratic future for their country and limit the role of the military so that their 2011 revolution that toppled Mubarak would not go to waste.

No Muslim Brotherhood – No Sharia Law – No despotic government – No waiting for the next election – The message was quite clear!

Millions of Egyptians filled the streets of Cairo for days, carrying signs that said – “Obama, your b**ch is our dictator…” and “Wake up America, Obama backs a fascist regime in Egypt…” and “Obama supports terrorism…”

The people of Egypt are doing exactly what Americans should have done long before now. As spineless Americans wring their hands and gnash their teeth, watching the Obama regime destroy their country and operating against the majority will of Americans, the people of Egypt seized control of their own destiny.

Like Obama, Morsi was fraudulently forced into power through a bogus election run by Obama’s State Department under the direction of Hillary Clinton. Like Obama, Morsi interpreted the outcome of his 52-48 election as some kind of mandate to run roughshod over the people of Egypt.

Back in America, Obama’s fraudulent elections in 2008 and 2012 didn’t even enjoy the popular support margin that Morsi enjoyed in Egypt and Obama’s policies are not opposed by the minority of Americans, but rather by the vast majority.

Our so-called “constitutional congress” has done nothing to stop the Obama regime from destroying the United States of America and our so-called “constitutional Supreme Court” has only run legal cover for the anti-American Obama regime.

It appears that Egypt is the new worldwide home of the brave and land of the soon to be free. The people of Egypt didn’t sit around in Tea Party clutches plotting the next ineligible candidate to replace their evil government in the next election. They took to the streets and forced the Egyptian military to stand with the people of Egypt.

Newsrooms all over the world are calling it a military coup, but that’s not actually what it is…

In any constitutional democracy, the military is not the force of the government, but rather the force of the people. Just as the United States Military is sworn to protect and defend the people of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, the Egyptian military under their new constitution is sworn to protect that constitution and the people of Egypt, not some puppet Islamic dictator installed by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Sadly, I am not so sure that America can avoid the kind of situation that Egypt is now going through.  Obama and the Pelosipalosers have so screwed up our nation -- its government and its moral system.

Another sign that Obama, the Pelosipaloser and their left-wing nut sycophant supporters are destroying America ---- (this happened in America) when a father and daughter were arrested for having an incestuous relationship .... protests have been made that because the pair were consenting adults -- they should NOT be prosecuted and that the laws should change.

This is where America is headed if we allow the left-wing nuts like Obama, Pelosi, Tonko, et al to continue in office.  This is worse than having lunatics running the country ... it is as if we have invited Satan and all his minions to have free reign.
