DO NOT FORCE US TO PAY TAXES AND I GUARANTEE MANY WILL BE MORE THEN WILLING TO NOT USE MANY OF THOSE SERVICES. LIBERALS ARE SCARED THAT MANY CAN SURVIVE WITHOUT ALL OF THAT AND PULL THEM AWAY FROM THE GOVERNMENTS TIT, LIBERALS NEED US MORE THEN WE NEED THEM AND THEY KNOW IT.

I don't hate taxes. I hate the horribly high taxes destroying my city and forcing people out of their homes, just to lavish money on connected people and provide a very comfortable living for a dangerous cop who pointed a gun in a 17 year old's face, etc. etc.
I pay my bills. I resent having my money used to pay for luxuries I go without, for other people. Go drive by one of the housing projects and look at some of the cars parked there. I resent paying to subsidize high salaries for people who then look down on people like me, and use my money to make Schenectady over in hopes of attracting some more of their snobby friends, while my neighborhood goes to Hell. We've all got serious water problems that are expensive to fix. After paying our high taxes and paying for repairs exacerbated by the city's neglect, we don't have money left over to sit down and enjoy the "vibrant" downtown. We have jobs and bills.

Good Henry... Pick the ones you want to do with out.  Since you have no use for the police...
Why not prisons to start with... then roads and water.  LEt me know how well you're doing with felons
walking the streets, with no govt supported roads... only private roads, and with water only from your
own well or that you collect in a rain barrel.

Lets see... that leaves 99 more things you need to stop using... unless, you're all talk but really one of those
sucking on the govt tit!

Taxes should be voluntary, if you don't pay you don't play, many like firefighter are a good thing to me because I see it as insurance, others I have no use for.

So as I've always posted... YOU'RE SELFISH.  You want what benefits you but screw everyone else.
If you need help after a flood, you want help.  But if you live on high ground...screw all your neighbors.
If you need a firetruck to save your home... "HELP!  HELP! Send the taxpayer funded fire truck to Henry's
house"
Other wise... screw everyone else.  Let them fight their own fires.

You want what benefits you, BUT ONLY YOU.  YOU WANT OTHERS TO PAY FOR YOUR FIRETRUCK, BUT
WON'T HELP PAY FOR THEIR SERVICES THAT YOU DON'T USE.

Look up selfish in the dictionary:
selfish

1. devoted to or caring only for oneself; concerned primarily with one's own interests, benefits,
welfare, etc., regardless of others.
2. characterized by or manifesting concern or care only for oneself:

philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

I'd be curious to understand how a country can run and exist if taxes were voluntary.
What percentage of the people do you think would voluntarily pay taxes (my guess is less than 1%)....surely not the rich or the corporations.
Yah, taxes are too high because of a Government that is out of control...they don't look out for the people they represent.
But VOLUNTARY...really!!!!

Its simple, things like firefighters can be privatized, many already are, you pay a yearly fee and they will help when you call. Some city units will go outside their zones but those people have to pay to get service, if they decide not to pay then they're not covered. Not all tax funded programs and services are bad but I think even you would agree not all of them are needed, those services that people don't use they should not have to pay for, but again you don't pay you don't get the service. Box says I'm greedy but he is the one who wants my money for services I don't use or want, he is the greedy one. He also says I'm selfish, maybe if you consider putting yourself and your family ahead of others but who here wouldn't.  If I got $100 left to my name my family comes 1st, when I have more I usually donate or help others. Its not greed or selfishness it is survival for many.

So since I have no children I school should I pay school taxes?
If I don't that means those with children will pay more.
Should people pay based on how many children they have in school?
It's a simple formula to spread the cost across more people to lower the individual cost.
Voluntary taxes, like I said, would not work....who would voluntarily pay?

If you don't have kids then no you shouldn't be forced to pay school taxes, if you wish you could donate your money but it shouldn't be forced out of your earnings. Those who put their kids in school would have to pay, it would actually be better because schools would have to compete lowering the cost for the parents, more private schools would open and a better quality of education would be provided. Like any service you get what you pay for. You asked who would voluntary pay taxes, many people if they were smart. If they think fire protection is worth the $75 a year they will pay it. If they want SS they will pay into it, if they don't they will need to find other means but not at the cost of others.

I'm fine with paying taxes for the higher level of service I expect from my choice to live in a city. People without paid fire departments end up paying alot more in fire insurance. People without city water have to be bothered with wells. For the past several DECADES, I have been paying more and more for less and less sevice, while others enjoy high levels of service without paying.
I don't mind paying for the schools, because the entitlement is to the INDIVIDUAL, and I had the very same entitlement myself. I do mind paying for asystem that allowed an insane terrorist janitor to accrue a level of compensation of $6,000 bucks per month from a jail cell. How did that help a child become literate enough to fully participate in society?
When those we pay our taxes to fail to use those taxes for our benefit, that is taxation without representation, because people like Chuck Schumer righton down to McCheese are working against our interests. Taxation without representation is treasonous, IMO.

You are speaking of a utopia, and it sounds really good....but it doesn't work.
You can't get people to buy car insurance
You can't get people to buy home owners or renters insurance
People who don't pay for fire departments...if their house is on fire, does that mean it burns and no one comes?
We can go on and on....unfortunately, that is our society and we can only do our best to live within it while trying
to change it and improve it. Government needs to be run like a corporation, but reality is they operate like it's their
free bank account...especially since most of them pay a lot less taxes than you and I and earn a lot more.

It worked before why wouldn't it work today, I would love the shot to at least try it to prove it could be done. Box said if I don't like paying taxes don't use these, fine with me I would be happy to take my taxes back. But the thing is box doesn't want us to use it but he still wants our money, he doesn't want us to have the option of opting out of services for a cut in our taxes.
