Cicero's comment about calling a friend and not the police when someone is creep stalking you, what kid in their right mind would call the police and say some guy is following me?
Calling the police would only raise your risk of injury or death.
Call the police, yeah I'm gonna do that.[s]
Deadly force not justified.
No deadly force threat has even been presented. Just a fight.
Just for argument sake, let's suppose Zimmerman was a woman and stalking an ex boyfriend. That ex boyfriend looked at Zimmerman's stalking as threatening and proceeded to confront female Zimmerman and he assauls her and begins to pull down her pants as if to rape her. Would the female Zimmerman be charge with murder if she shoots the attacker? Or should female Zimmerman just allow herself to be raped because she provoked the confrontation?
Watched for a short time today, I think it could have been Zimmerman yelling help listening to his voice when being questioned, but still feel he should be found guilty because he should NOT have followed Martin.
If he had done his "job" as neighborhood watch he would have reported and let police follow up.
Sitting on my porch today heard a group of 8 - 9 years olds, they must of used the N word at least 100 times along with others that would make your jaw drop. These kids had no respect for each other let alone themselves.
Sick of hearing the N word is a term of endearment when used within ones race, it's not.

OK, so in your scenario a stalker gets raped by the person she's stalking.
I'm wondering when a confrontation technically becomes a rape.
If the rapist is unarmed, you take your chances shooting him.
You may or may not be charged, depending on many circumstances.
Physical force does not justify deadly force in most cases.
Stand your ground law is an exception.
If he grabs his ex girlfriend and starts unbuttoning her pants, can she legally kill him for that?
I doubt that would hold up due to lack of physical evidence.
Many rapists get charges dropped for similar reasons.
I am going to say that if you are fighting someone, it usually doesn't justify deadly force.
If you are overpowered and held against your will, for whatever reason, that would be justifiable.
You have no ability to flee and are being held prisoner.
Would the ex boyfriend even be charged with rape after she was stalking him?
There better be some serious physical evidence, like bruising, scratching etc.
Absent a weapon he may likely get the charges dropped even if he was charged.
A 35-year-old woman says she shot and killed a man, 33-year-old Lawrence Sandoval, after he allegedly followed her home from the gas station, forced his way into her home, and held her at knife point insisting that she undress. The woman told authorities that after Sandoval put the knife under her chin, she reached under her pillow, grabbed her loaded gun, and shot Sandoval.
She ran out of the house and called 911. Officials say Sandoval died at the scene. No charges have been filed.
Florida has a "stand your ground" law. GunHuggers passed it so that they could finally get to shoot someone... anyone... it doesn't matter who. As long as they can get away with it. And Zimmerman probably will.

The trial isn't over yet, but it's obvious to me the 2nd degree murder charge was nothing more than pacifying the minority community. Unless the prosecution has something up it's sleeve, I see nothing that would even approach enough evidence to convict on Murder two WITHOUT reasonable doubt.
If the jury thinks that he is guilty of something criminal, I hope they have an option of a lesser charge. If the prosecutors didn't give them that option, then they have blood on their hands if an acquittal comes and the riots start.

The threats of riots were already said, I don't think people will put up with that crap again though, there will be a lot of dead rioters and looters this time around if they attempted it.

SANFORD, Florida (Reuters) – Volunteer watchman George Zimmerman suffered “insignificant” injuries in the fight in which he shot and killed unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin, a medical examiner testified on Tuesday, as prosecutors attempted to undermine Zimmerman’s claim he feared for his life.
Testifying for the prosecution at Zimmerman’s trial, Medical Examiner Valerie Rao said she reviewed Zimmerman’s medical records and 36 pictures of his injuries taken at the police station after the fight.

Should he have waited for them to become life threatening? The whole point of self defense is to stop any or all harm

So if Zimmerman (the aggressor) THOUGHT that EVENTUALLY Martin would cause 'life threatening" injuries, he should just shoot Martin, before there are any life threatening injuries.

Ummm yeah that is the point of self defense, when was he supposed to wait until he was unconscious or lost more then 2 pints of blood. If someone is coming at you with a knife would you wait until he stabbed you first, I sure the hell hope not If you feel the person is going to cause life threatening injuries it is your right to stop him in doing so. I'm not taking sides in this case because I think it is a crappy situation all the way around but self defense is self defense.

By your standard, the one being stalked, Martin, should have grabbed a gun, knife, 2x4, whatever and killed Zimmerman when he saw Zimmerman stalking and following him. Self Defense.

If he felt his life was in danger yes, however your actions will have to be justified and if it isn't you will find yourself in front of a jury to decide if it was or not.

A physical examination wasn't necessary for his wounds... Zimmerman didn't bother to go to the ER with his"LIFE THREATENING WOUNDS"... There was no need to stop the bleeding, xray for fractures or even put a bandaid on his "LIFE THREATENING WOUNDS".
The Medical Examiner (expert in the field) didn't say the wounds were serious, or that they were substantial, or even that they were minor... She said Zimmerman's wounds “ were very insignificant”
