Yup not many politicians are influencial, Ron Paul on the other hand is and I would even say he is a hero and role model to many in the younger generations, in fact I know he is.

He is a hero to many in the older generation like me Henry

Served our country, delivered thousands of babies, against abortion and Ron Paul predicted so much that is happening now like
bumble's video show, not only about surveillance but the economy, the housing bubble, blowback and so much more.

Like so many have said Ron Paul ended my apathy and opened my eyes to the abuses in government and the threats to our freedom
and liberty.

My only choice was to vote in a primary, then again in the general election for the best man for the
job.

That isn't your only choice.  You don't have to vote and give consent.  That's a copout.

The media did their best to paint Mr.Paul as some of fringe nutball. I saw him on the tonight show one time, and the audience was really with him. Imagine if he hadn't got the at best dismissive coverage from the national press, what he could've accomplished? I'm not saying I think the man is perfect or all-knowing or anything, I just believe he was the only antidote to the horrible things that have been inflicted on this country by the politicians. The media picked Obama as their savior on the basis of one speech at a convention, and after that, they never bothered to look at what they were doing.

I have some very serious disagreements with the White House on a number of issues.
Gitmo, the patriot act, caving in to the Rabid Right on Obamacare, extending the tax cut for the rich etc.
My only choice was to vote in a primary, then again in the general election for the best man for the
job.  I have no regrets considering the alternatives.

"Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee member" Rand Paul never heard of a govt phone
surveillance problem until last week... yet "obscure" Senator Mark Udall of Colorado reported it on the
Senate Floor over 2 years ago.

Maybe if Randy was doing his job as a member of  Homeland Security and Govt Affairs...  he might
have asked fellow senator Udall who is not on Homeland Security committee (but knows more than Paul
about it).

Your trying to play left right politics with this when it is not a left right issue, there is those who oppose it and those who are for it, those who are for it are traitors to this country.

This surprises you?

You have Google which seems to keep track of everyone's surfing -- and even publishes lists of the most popular searches. Then, every ISP keeps tons of records on their customer use for months, which must take up an awful amount of precious storage space. Around a decade ago, the courts found a way to break down the ISP privacy laws and force them to provide the records of chosen users.

There are just hundreds if not thousands of malware viruses out there that easily collect data on your system usage for 'improving your shopping experience' and your personal information is now a viable commodity, to be sold at will among assorted businesses.

Kids can and have made viruses just for run, to screw up your system or mine your data. Cell phones can be turned on remotely and either listened to or found by GPS. Some do not allow you to turn off the GPS. Your cell phone numbers also have found their way onto call lists for advertisers.

Even with sophisticated anti-virus programs, you occasionally find pop-up ads lodged on your desktop when you finish with the internet and there are tons of spyware out there for you to buy to spy on your kids, for companies to spy on employees and invade your private life.

TV is forever producing shows informing you how to spy on neighbors who have wireless security cameras, what equipment you need to buy and how to hijack Wii from anyplace that provides it.

Now, you have tablets and phones with no HD. All of your stuff is on 'The Cloud', meaning on someone else's servers -- which simply begs for someone to find a way to exploit this.

Cell phones have video recorders and live action cameras. How can you take 20 minutes of video and store it in your phone, which doesn't have an HD? Through the system servers, of course, which can be made available to anyone with the knowledge to access them.

Security cameras have become smaller and cheaper. CDs have become smaller. Hard drives went from bytes to megabytes to gigabytes.

You can cheaply buy military grade night vision online. Your wireless baby monitor can easily be tapped into by strangers with a laptop.

I grew up during the Cold War. Those of us who did tend to get a little paranoid. Read up on McCarthy-ism and see how one senator in an anti-communist fury, terrified the entire country and managed to ruin a lot of innocent lives.

Your car can be easily tracked through legal hardware and software. Now, it can even be shut off from hundreds of miles away. Some businesses have been working to get it legal to shut off your car if you're behind on your payments. Insurance companies can place trackers in your SUV to see how well you drive, which determines the cost of your insurance.

You must have known the potential of this technology for abuse.

You question the morality and legality of using drones to kill enemies, yet you have no problem accepting that a man in a high rise apartment can record another man in an apartment across the street having sex with his wife, and then take the couple to court and sue them for 'public' sexual acts.

At 6 stories above the ground and about 100 feet apart, apparently you shouldn't expect privacy.

You already knew that the FBI has been using a program that scans the Internet for key words that might lead to sex offenders or terrorists.

Most of you don't recall when the cops switched to radar for speeders. A huge step for them. Within about a year, folks produced and sold radar detectors to put in your car. Some states made them illegal. So they produced versions which could hide behind the grill and not easily be seen by cops.

You can buy cameras that detect body heat, pens that emit ultraviolet light that make assorted bodily fluids visible, motion sensing cameras and lights and now, flying eyes in the sky.

With all of this spy technology available, someone was bound to abuse it.

It happened to be your government, which has for decades, especially since the cold war and most certainly since 9/11, wanted to keep an eye on the populace.

You should have seen where all this was headed, especially with the astonishing advancement in cell phones.

Now, your phone can accept credit cards. The potential for abuse there is tremendous.

Ever notice how when you hit a web page, video ads start almost instantly .... yet when you want to view a video, sometimes they seem to take forever to load and run and can be in poor quality. So, why do the ads always load up so fast and display so well?

Also, ads at the beginning of many videos shut off the control bar, which can be used to silence or fast foreword them. To add insult to injury, after you get the video, then you have to contend with popup ads that often make it a bit hard to find the close icon. These ads can't be blocked by your popup blocker either.

New laws have been written by the score that void your civil rights and, in some instances, your human rights. Like the many 'no exception' laws written for schools. Zero tolerance. That's why a kid can get in trouble for chewing a Danish into the crude shape of a gun on school property. A 6 year old can become a sex offender by kissing a willing 6 year old girl in school.

You didn't find out about the legal system removing the interest rate limits applied by the government decades ago to protect you until you discovered your pay-day type loan could go up to 500% interest and your credit card rate double for no given reason.

If the 'Prism' Report surprises you, maybe you have been too complacent. I'd worry less about the President's birth certificate and worry more about what security agents are doing behind the scenes.

Not a denial... you stated that he 'lied'... I asked what was the lie.  You seem to be unable to answer.

He campaigned on the promise of limiting the power of the Patriot Act, once in he signed the same bill into law again with no provisions protecting privacy, then he goes further and abuses it worse then Bush. The Patriot Act was a big issue to a lot of people and they liked the talk coming from Obama, he told them lies for votes, lies
