Are "other liberals" really liberals if they don't side with liberal Feinstein?  Is Rand Paul the rabid right if he doesn't side with John McCain?  The traditional left/right definitions breaking down?  You will begin to see the same divisions in the Democrat Party that have been going on in the Republican Party.

I'll ask again:
Do you have any FACTS that would suggest Bin Laden is alive??? Or do just have this 'gut feeling' that
inspires your opinions.

As posted above, I like many Americans believed the WMD lie, because I had no reason not to... as more
evidence came to light that it was a lie, I changed my mind.

First, you were sent to fight in a war based on lies.  I would think your personal experience of potentially sacrificing your life based on government lies and half truths would have conditioned you to question all government claims that lead to war.

Second, I never said he was alive, I said there is no proof he is dead.  Big difference.

If I find some evidence that Bin Laden is still alive I will have to change my mind on that one too.

...you have no evidence he is dead.  You have a staged photograph of the President and his staff in what appears to be them watching a monitor.  The amazing thing is, not that you will change your mind in light of new evidence, but that you made up your mind to believe it with NO EVIDENCE.

What lies??? Americans were fighting in Vietnam & Southeast Asia long before and long after the Gulf
of Tonkin incident.  What about those thousands of Americans who fought in Vietnam BEFORE the
Gulf of Tonkin Incident... were they there based on lies also???
The Gulf of Tonkin was in part an attack by North Vietnamese as confirmed here:
Quoted Text
In 2005, an internal National Security Agency historical study was declassified; it concluded
that the Maddox had engaged the North Vietnamese Navy on August 2, but that there were no North
Vietnamese Naval vessels present during the incident of August 4.

The report stated regarding August 2:
At 1505G, Captain Herrick ordered Ogier's gun crews to open fire if the boats approached within ten
thousand yards. At about 1505G, the Maddox fired three rounds to warn off the communist boats.

Quoted Text
Regarding August 4:
No attack happened that night.  Hanoi's navy was engaged in nothing that night but the salvage of two
of the boats damaged on August 2.

So the Gulf of Tonkin amendment was based on partial fact, and partial lies.
(I know, you'd rather it was all lies, but history shows different)

YUP!  I believed G Worst Bush when he first said that there were WMD's, and when I found evidence to the
contrary, I changed my mind.
I Believe Barack Obama when he said that Bin Laden was killed, and I will evaluate any evidence against
that conclusion if I ever come across any.

Again... do you have any evidence that Bin Laden is alive... that he wasn't killed by US forces or
any evidence at all that the attack was staged or false???
NO???  Then what do you base your doubts on... gut feelings?  Past mistakes??? Fear of your own
government???

NSA Surveillance Program Failed to Invade Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s Privacy

Maybe if the National Security Agency had noticed the Boston bomber’s visits to al
Qaeda’s magazine or ‘Terrorist’ YouTube videos and stopped him, Edward Snowden wouldn’t
have become a leaker.

Quoted Text
One person whose privacy was not invaded by U.S. intelligence was Tamerlan Tsarnaev,
as he repeatedly visited the al Qaeda online magazine Inspire for its recipe “Build a Bomb in the
Kitchen of Your Mom.”

Even after Russian intelligence asked the FBI to investigate Tsarnaev, the huge databases our
intelligence services maintain in the name of our national security failed to alert the agents to
Tsarnaev’s interest in building the pressure cooker bombs he would use to devastating effect
at the Boston Marathon.

Senators Have Only Themselves To Blame For Not
Knowing About NSA Programs

(Rand Paul comes to mind)

Quoted Text
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) said Tuesday that he doesn't have much patience
for lawmakers who have claimed they weren't briefed on the National Security Agency's surveillance
programs, contending that those elected officials need only look in a mirror if they want someone to blame.

"For senators to complain that 'I didn't know this was happening,' we've had many, many meetings
that have been both classified and unclassified that members have been invited to," Reid said during
a briefing with reporters, as noted Tuesday by TPM.

He added: "If they don't come and take advantage of this, I can't say enough to say they shouldn't
come and say 'I wasn't aware of this,' because they've had every opportunity to be aware of these
programs."

Paul might have known about the NSA programs if he wasn't so busy running for President
instead of doing his job.

How many ways to I have to say it?  There is no evidence he is dead.  What is so hard to understand?

When did the burden of proof become mine, when the people making the claim he is dead provided no evidence?

Rand Paul already said that even when informed about the program, you were legally gagged from making the information public.  How do you garner public support against a spy program if you cannot tell the public the details of it?  What Reid is saying is ridiculous.

This is how the congressional briefing went.

Obama - "this is the spy program called PRISM that is collecting the electronic communications of Americans and storing it in a huge data base.  We are taking Metadate to map out Americans movement in and outside the United States.

Paul " But this program violates the 4th Amendment and the American people would not support this if they knew the details about it"

Obama - "We have that covered, as members of congress, you are privy to this information, BUT, you can never speak about this program in public.  If you do, you will be jailed."

Paul - "How does our democracy work if we are conducting a domestic spy program aimed at our own people and their elected representative can never make them aware of it?"

Obama - "That is the beauty of labelling things national security, the public doesn't have to know, and there will never be political fallout over it."

Paul - "That doesn't sound like democracy"

Obama - "I told you I was going to fundamentally transform America"

On May 4, the Obama administration announced it would not release any images of bin Laden's
dead body. The administration had considered releasing the photos to dispel rumors of a hoax,
at the risks of perhaps prompting another attack by al Qaeda and of releasing very graphic images
to people who might find them disturbing.

On May 6, an al-Qaeda website acknowledged bin Laden's death.

On May 11, Republican senator and Senate Armed Services Committee member Jim Inhofe
stated he had viewed "gruesome" photographs of bin Laden's corpse, and later confirmed that
the body "was him", adding, "He's history".

Al-Qaeda confirms bin Laden's death, threatens new attacks

Unless you have some information to show Bin Laden is alive, or some information to give doubt to
his widely reported death from news agencies across the world as well as his own al Qaeda group...
I'll stick with the news reports... you can continue to believe the Conspiracy Crazies.

Supreme Court Agrees with NSA on Phone Records

Since the 1979 ruling in Smith v. Maryland it has been well settled that the government does not
need a warrant to look at phone records — information about, say, the duration and direction of
calls that companies routinely gather from their customers, who therefore have no reasonable
expectation of privacy.

Yeah we wouldn't want to give AlQaeda a reason to attack us, give me a break. But oh the pictures are to graphic and the citizens aren't adult enough to see such violent images, my God are you that dumb box.

The same court that upheld the Jim Crow laws as constitutional, yeah they are trust worthy

NOPE!  That was the Plessy v. Ferguson court of 1896.
The 1979 ruling in Smith v. Maryland was obviously a totally different Supreme Court.
Thankfully, much has changed in those 83 years Henry.
