SS/Medicare/IRS...all control your healthcare now....they are the holy trinity....is everyone happy about that?
does it make sense? they will decide your value and how they will subsidize you and have a chronic political conversation
at the podiums over everyone' health insurance value and if there is personal compliance.

So at 65+ years old....working with 20 or less employees.......YA CAN'T KEEP YOUR PRESENT HEALTH INSURANCE.....NO CHOICE!!!

PERIOD!!!!

Hi everyone!
This is what I have found out so far. I have so far checked out supplements for MVP, C.D.P.H.P and Senior Blue (Blue Shield). They all offer different plans to choose from. The monthly premiums start from $18.40(with no Rx) to $228. C.D.P.H.P. is the highest on all of their plans with comparable coverage. I compared them all to the policy offered by my employer, which I am not eligible for. Here is what I found: My employer policy would have  been $100 more a month, but had better coverage and lower co-pays. The Advantage Supplements are cheaper, but their co-pays (Dr., Hospital, Prescriptions) are much higher and more restrictive. I also noticed that my employer policy had a better dental and vision coverage. All of the preventative services have no co-pays at all with the supplements. (Free) And there is a very long list of them. There are pages and pages of them. The out of pocket costs are in any illness related coverage. So I guess I will be saving on my monthly premiums,  but my co-pays (out of pocket) costs, will be much higher. So far, MVP Gold Value seems the best out of what I've researched at $59.50 a month. I'm still checking around. Does anyone else have any experience or knowledge with this?

JoAnn.  The selection between health care plans has always been a nightmare.  To make a wise decision
you first need to see into the future to know what type of coverage you will need.

I would suggest those of you who are of Medicare age--call StateWide Senior Action Council at 436-1006 for help.  You can also call them for information about getting in touch with a healthcare navigator if you are not Medicare age.

very sad that one must look for help when shopping for something you're forced to buy and then beg for a discount....

has had universal health care for decades... we are now just catching up.  At present, the USA pays more
for health care than any of these countries, and gets less.  
ObamaCare will help keep "expensive" ER visits for those who need "EMERGENCY" services.  In the past
the ER was often the only place that many poor or uninsured could get needed services.
Most US Presidents, from Ike to Obama have supported Health Care for all Americans.  Thank You
President Barack Hussein Obama for finally delivering!

I too think that everyone should be entitled to health insurance coverage. For me that is not an issue. But for me, I personally don't like that I have no choice but to give up my health insurance, that I like, that my employer provides and have to settle for an insurance that might be a cheaper premium, with a much higher out of pocket costs and offers less in some areas. Personally, I am not happy with my outcome. I would have rather kept my employer provided insurance. This is just my personal experience.

Let's wait and see if we get it!!!
