No answer huh box?  You have it backward, as long as you get YOURS box, screw Everybody Else.

At a cost to all Americans.  The cost of health care has been increasing, and the quality of that
health care has also been increasing.

Quoted Text
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the average life expectancy at the
beginning of the 20th century was 47.3 years. A century later, that number had
increased to 77.85 years, due largely to the development of vaccinations and other
treatments for deadly diseases.

Cicero wants the benefit of those advances, he just wants someone else to pay for them.

Lol...box grew up in a generation that was take-take-take and ran up a $17 trillion debt while they lived a life of luxury, knowing that their kids would ultimately have to pay for it. Now as they enter those "golden years" and as a generation, they didn't save a penny for their own healthcare, Box now wants to screw his kids and grand kids to pick up the tab by fining a healthy 18 year old in order to pay for his bypass surgery and nursing home care.  What a selfish generation, and they aren't done plundering.

Hey box, did you have health insurance your entire life?  Did all those hippies at Woodstock consuming massive amounts of drugs have health insurance?  No way, "the man" wasn't going to control them.

The baby boomer legacy for their children's generations, 47 million Americans on food stamps, and extorting money from them to pay for their parents medical care.

Quoted Text
According to a recent survey, 51% of workers over the age of 55 have less than $50,000 saved for retirement. And 39% in that same age group have less than $25,000 in retirement savings. Those are frightening numbers if you consider that those people are very close to the typical age of retirement.

Actually the national debt was roughly stable ever since I was born (corrected for inflation) until
the Reagan years.  Then it tripled in the 12 years of Reagan Bush.

So to answer your question, for 2/3rds of my life, the debt was stable. It rose under Reagan/Bush
then stabilized again under Clinton, but took off like a rocket under George Worst Bush.
Remember "Tax Cuts for the Rich" at the same time W decided to invade 2 countries on Credit???

How about you Cissy.  How stable was the debt in YOUR GENERATION???

Baby bomber generation is from 1946-1964, that would make the last year people born in your generation were eligible to vote in 1982.  Carter and Reagan were your generations first presidents.

My generation still don't have the numbers.  The Boomers drives the political system by their sheer numbers.  You would call my generations political leaders domestic terrorists, anarchist, and all the other adjectives the boomers in congress called Cruz and others during the shutdown.  John McCain, Mitch McConnel, John Boenner, and yes, Reagan and Bush are your generation.  They created this mess.

the rising cost of 'healthcare' which is a misnomer....is actually the rise in HEALTH INSURANCE COSTS....it doesn't cost
anything for me to TAKE CHARGE OF MY HEALTHCARE...it's free to go on a hike, it's free to ride a bike, it's free to go jogging
it's free to make good food choices, it's free to have a garden(if your motivated and smart enough to get the hell out of the city
and suburbia), it costs nothing to take shower/bath etc etc etc etc....it costs nothing to not have intercourse and be creative, etc

health insurance and unions began their marriage promoting 'preventative medicine' and morphing it with the term healthcare...

putting the fear over the top into humans is wrong.....

gee, I better get a colonoscopy, did you see that bill board and commercial on TV?
gee, they say eggs are bad for you
gee, they say I could die from the flu if I don't get the shot
gee, they say I should get my cholesterol checked and take that drug
gee, I'm overweight I should get my A1C checked to see if I'm a diabetic

etc etc etc.........

people stopped listening to their instincts and bodies because the fear of not being a college educated 'expert' was shoved
down their throats and as long as they had a tv to turn to for relaxation after their 12 hour day it was OK

HEALTHCARE AND HEALTH INSURANCE ARE NOT THE SAME.....PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE IS NON EXISTENT ...sure you can dig and
dig and dig and dig.....and you WILL find something...whether it exists or not is another issue....medicine IS NOT an
exact science and people need to stop fearing their own bodies and letting 'experts' tell them they are wrong in what their instincts
tell them.....that's the real sickness.....

Boomers started voting in 1967 but in 1971 the voting age was dropped from 21 to 18 so there were
an added 3 years of Boomer Voters after that date.

Boomer voters would have been able to vote for every president including Nixon/Humphrey/Wallace on.

That includes, Nixon/Humphrey/Wallace, Nixon/McGovern, Ford/Carter, Reagan/Carter, Reagan/Mondale,
Bush/Dukakis, Clinton/Bush, Clinton/Dole, Bush/Gore, Bush/Kerry, Obama/McCain, and Obama/Romney.
Carter/Reagan??? I dont think so.

Sure, the 67 election would be the first year those born in 1946 could vote, but the numbers of the entire generation were not felt until the mid to late 70's.  In 1982, the entire generation was of voter age.  That is when the influence was greatest.  Their influence is going in the other direction.  They are losing political influence, and the next 20 years it will become even less.

Yup!  There is a whole generation of voters entering the polls who view TeaBaggers as the enemy!

Don't take my word for it Cissy.  Look at the demographics.
Those who voted for Obama, and will vote for Hillary, are growing in number.  The group who elected
the TeaBaggers in 2010 are shrinking.

So let me understand, when it cost me more for health insurance,
my HEALTHCARE costs didn't go up because:
Doctor charges went up from previous year
Hospital charges went up from previous year
Insurance negotiated payment costs went up to meet the other increases to Dr's and Hospitals
The cost of insurance that my Company negotiated with the insurance company was increased from the previous year
My company decided to contribute less to the cost of insurance and pass additional costs onto me

So have I got that right....none of that was why my out of pocket expense for HEALTHCARE increased!

it depends on what your definition of healthcare is.....

insurance companies have government regulations as to how they raise rates much like the cable companies and such
they are regulated.....and it's like a poker game with the politicians...don't think otherwise...national health insurance
is a shell game....healthcare is choice....

Actually I'm comfortable with the Wikipedia definition:
"Health care (or healthcare) is the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease, illness, injury, and other physical and mental impairments in humans. Health care is delivered by practitioners in medicine, optometry, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, allied health, and other care providers. It refers to the work done in providing primary care, secondary care, and tertiary care, as well as in public health."

it's sick care, disease care, infection care etc etc that affects your overall health....it's very specific

that part of healthcare that is about impairments....otherwise most of it is our own responsibility of which we have free choice..and
that includes opting out of vaccines/mental reviews/physicals/colonoscopies etc when one is feeling healthy....

but A LOT  of $$$$ is pushed with 'preventative medicine' which is promoted under great authority of knowing your body better
than you....

Koch Brothers Spent $$$Millions To Deny ObamaCare to Poor Americans

As part of its state-by-state effort to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, a group backed by
billionaire conservative benefactors Charles and David Koch is going after a Republican lawmaker
in Virginia who has signaled an openness to the law's Medicaid expansion.

An article published Saturday in The New York Times details how the conservative advocacy
group Americans for Prosperity is employing a grassroots campaign to pressure state lawmakers
to reject the Medicaid expansion under the health care law.

We just heard from a friend of ours that works at GE. They got a notice in their paycheck that there will be an added deduction to cover the uninsured under the new Affordable Care Act, taken out of their paychecks.

Also just heard from our neighbor that her husband's job, along with others, that their jobs were either abolished or the hours were cut. In this case, her husband's hours were cut to under 30hrs/week.

I'm sure there will be more heart wrenching stories that will emerge.

What doesn't make sense is that Gov Almighty 'knew' that jobs would be cut and/or abolished which leads to not only a slower economy(no having $ to buy products), to less tax money being put into the system to support Gov Almighty's programs.

It just doesn't add up.

and yes the republicans knew this and knew that companies would down size the hours...GREAT....30hours to unload
the masses onto daddy government.....the dems knew this too....why? because regardless of what DEM supporters
say.....they are also part of the 'club'....
