Jordan to Host Major 18-Nation Military Drill: Official

by JGVibes

Jordan plans to host a major military drill with the participation of more than 15,000 soldiers from 18 different countries, including the United States, a Jordanian military official says.

May 26, 2013

Citing an official speaking on condition of anonymity, Jordan’s Petra news agency reported on Saturday that troops from countries including the US, Britain, Bahrain, Canada, the Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Iraq, Italy, Lebanon, Pakistan, Poland, Qatar, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Yemen will take part in the military exercise, dubbed “Eager Lion 2013.”

The official added that troops from “friendly countries” will come to Jordan in the coming weeks to participate in the war games.

He noted that the maneuver, which will last for two weeks, would follow a “successful” similar drill in 2012.

On May 14, Jordan’s Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lieutenant General Mishal Mohammed Zabin met with the army chiefs of the US, France and Turkey as well as the deputy secretary-general of the NATO, Alexander Vershbow, to discuss “preparations underway for the Eager Lion exercise.”

Jordan has received bulky aid from the US in recent years. Washington has granted USD 2.4 billion (EUR 1.85 billion) in aid to Amman in the past five years, according to official figures.

You don't think Israel gets enough 'military exercise'?  I think they'll beg to differ.

Besides, I don't think the Islamic nations would want to get their collective asses kicked again by the IDF, even if it is 'wargames'

Only nations I have a problem with on that list is Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon (do they even have an army?), and Pakistan. I was going to put Canada on the list but I guess someone needs to carry everyone's ammo.

Israel's military is too busy suppressing the Palestinian resistance to the Israeli advancement into Palestinian territory, as they continue to build Jewish settlements on their land.  They also have to police the Palestinians and keep them off of the Jewish only highway systems. Then when the Palestinians fire a few rockets into Israeli cities in a feeble attempt to repel the occupiers, they have to play the victims of "terror" and start dropping white phosphor bombs onto the Palestinian civilian population "in self defense".

Yup, they get plenty of "military exercise", against crushing a territory that has no military.

Don't worry Cicero! Your Hezbollah freedom fighters are currently helping the benevolent and peace loving Pres. Assad in Syria so that they may carve out a 'special place' for the oppressed Palestinian peoples

Don't worry Buck!  Your dream will come true, we will fight another proxi war with Russia(ala Afghanistan 1980's), we will say we are supporting "freedom fighters"(which are really Al Qaeda), and IF the freedom fighters/rebels/al Qaeda win, we will send our children and grandchildren to fight them 25 years from now when they directly attack America.  And the cycle will continue, and Israel be the silent financiers of that war too.

Keep cheering on the blood merchants Buck.  Lives are valuable, especially for the ones that make billions sending them to die.

That means there are no unjust wars, murder, or anything else for that matter.

I guess Nazi Germany was just acting out their human nature.

this is strange...we should be attentive to this.....they can't whitewash the info/discussions across the internet fast enough
so they are practicing the 'other alternative' or shall we say the diversion.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

First, I don't trust Obama when it comes to stuff like this -- he is probably planning to invade Israel.

Second, the Canadian military has fought valiantly and played a decisive role in a number of wars:

WWI -- 75,000 Canadians were killed and injured just in the First and Second Battles of Passchendaele and in the Hundred Days Offensive -- they played a pivotal role in all three of these operations which ultimately led to the Allied Victory in WW1.

WWII -- The Canadians played a significant role in a number of operations but the one that I believe deserves the most recognition was on D-Day.  They landed on "Juno Beach" against some of the heaviest German resistance yet managed to overcome it and drive further inland than their American and British counterparts on the end of that "Longest Day."

Korea -- 2 Canadian brigades ( and 1 Australian) held back an entire Commie Chinese division and thus prevented an over-run of the Allied position and the capture of Seoul.
