Charles Ramsey really does seem like a great guy, eccentric but great. As for the Cleveland police, it appears they were at the house multiple times, but never applied for a search warrant to go in. Great job guys.
I think search warrants are uneccessary. If there is a reported kidnapping, police should be able to search anybodies house within a certain geographical area to find the victim. My rights to privacy do not trump the ordeal these girls were put through.

I must say that as far as white girls not wanting to run into the arms of a black man- poor Charles is a victim of generational bias. Lets just say if he was born 30 or 40 years later that would not be an issue or the norm. THREE FRIGGING TIMES I HAVE CALLED 911 to report crimes being committed in and each time I was frustrated and astounded and annoyed beyond recognition with the idiocy and hard headedness of the MORONS that have answered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They had ME down as the perp!
Once, I was called to report a high speed chase in which three troopers were after a Blue BMW but they were at least 300-400 yards behind. The chases actually went by my house FOUR TIMES and this guy had these cops on the run bad. However as I saw him approach, I was next to the road and immediately focused on his plate number. Seconds later the police went by, yet he was 3 blocks ahead of them by the time they got past me. So I called 911 on my cell phone to report the high speed chase and give them the plate number. When I said I was calling to report the chase the woman at 911 said "WE ALREADY KNOW about THAT chase, SIRRRRRR!" in what could only be described as practiced disdain and condescension. She began then to berate me for tying up the 911 lines, and demanded my name, address and all kinds of other info on me. I could not get a word in edgewise and was doing my best to remember the plate number, and again the BMW speeds by with cops in distant pursuit (he simply went around the block) and finally I blurted out interrupting her " I HAVE THE PLATE NUMBER-SO DO YOU HAVE THAT INFORMATION OR DON'T YOU NEED IT????" Finally the beotch relented and said "SIR THAT WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL" So I gave it. I was ready to just hang up.
I mean, lets be real- with a plate number all they need to do is go to the guys house, instead of risking running over a child at 120 mph in a residential zone. Dumb.
Nonetheless, she then relented on running ME thru the ringer and I hung up. I checked the plate number twice and shame on them if they are too stupid too use it.
Next I watched the Home Depot security guys chase a thief out of the store and then try to run over the guard and I actually followed the guy home at a distance, calling 911 on the way and still never being able to get them to take the information after 5minutes of being grilled by them... and last I witnessed a hit and run in Colonie on Wolf Road. The kid in a sports car with the smashed up grill sped off and I quickly took his plate and called 911 where I was rudely interrogated for 5 minutes about ME and WHO I WAS before I was able to give one shred of information. I finally hung up and drove to the Colonie Police where I asked for a detective who VERY helpfully took the info. He even called me back 2-3 hours later to tell me an arrest had been made after they went to the kids house and found his car in the garage all smashed up! He was very grateful to me and kind, with nice people skills, UNLIKE THE MORONS AT 911!!!
In all three instances I found that the 911 dispatcher was an utter moron who was bound by the rules and/or the training and/or the limits of their intelligence and interpersonal skills to treat the caller like an immediate suspect and douchbag. I will never call 911 again if I don't have to. Now, that being said- when I have called RPD directly or SPD directly- I NEVER had an issue.
