A Fox News spokesperson explained Monday that conspiracy theorist Glenn Beck left the network not because he was safeguarding his spirituality, but because “he was trying to save his @ss” after a massively effective advertiser boycott.
The comment comes by way of Politico’s Mike Allen, who emailed Fox News for a reaction to Beck’s remarks on Friday, when he told a group of students that he left Fox News to save his immortal soul.
“Glenn Beck wasn’t trying to save his soul, he was trying to save his @ss,” a Fox News spokesperson told Allen in an email. “Advertisers fled his show and even Glenn knows what that means in our industry.
For the record, that’s the first official acknowledgment that Fox News really felt the advertiser boycott launched in part by the activist group Color of Change.

Color of Change? never heard of them. I do remember the boycotts though but he always had companies that were willing to buy time during his slots. I used to like his show for awhile but then he became fixated on Israel rather than his own country, not to mention his show became almost like a church with him preaching, I believe in God but damn even I can only take so much

For months on end, activists pelted Beck’s advertisers with tens of thousands of letters, emails and phone calls complaining about the host’s racist rhetoric that hundreds of companies backed away. Beck saw so many advertisers flee from his program during that period, his show actually ran without any ads at all in the U.K. for a time.
The conspiracy host’s departure was announced in April 2011. He’s since launched a video-based website called “The Blaze TV”. Beck was reportedly in talks with Current TV to buy the network out for $500 million and put “The Blaze TV” on cable, but network owner Al Gore turned him down and sold to Qatar-based Al Jazeera for less.

The more I look into them the more I think Beck quit to be honest with you, I think he started his own show or program anyways after leaving FOX.

When a show crashes the way Beck's did, the choice is often, "quit or be fired".

I agree. Left wing audiences don't require the constant drumbeat of propaganda that so characterizes Right Wing Crazy talk shows. There must be something lacking in the Conservative psyche that demands hours upon hours of Right Wing Hate, presented by an irate outraged obnoxious host.
Who knows why anyone listens to that hate filled spew but there is a whole class of media that's getting rich by dispensing it.

You got to be kidding me, I'll admit the right has its fair share of bs propaganda hosts but the left is just as bad if not worst, did you ever watch Ed Schultz or Keith Olbermann and whoever that British dude is, its non stop propaganda at its finest. Both sides use it you must be blind not to see it.

Look at their ratings. I occasionally enjoy Olbermann's rants, but i seldom watched his show. I haven't watched Maddow in months. I've seen more of Schultz on linked sites than I ever have on Cable.
If the Left needed that kind of propaganda, those shows would be booming... instead of running a distant third or worse.
Right Wing Hate Talk Shows are like heroin to Conservatives... they watch hours on top of hours of it and still want more.

Yeah it just so happens 99% of liberals I talk to just happen to use the same talking points that are used on those shows

Yea. "The sun comes up in the East." That fact could be spoken on almost all Left Wing sites. But The same information on a Right Wing Talk Show would look something like this: "Obama declares that today, the Sun will Rise in the EAST!!! And he expects us all to just believe that mainstream media bias? Of course we won't. Since the FBI got involved, the sun has been rising more and more to the NORTH! PROOF of a FBI False Flag Conspiracy."
See. On Right Wing Crazy shows... every host has his own particular brand of Crazy... totally independent from all other Right Wing Crazy broadcasts! No two alike.
