House fire battled in Rotterdam
Tuesday, April 23, 2013

ROTTERDAM — Firefighters battled a 2-alarm blaze at 3047 Guilderland Ave. in Rotterdam late Monday.

Police officers were first on the scene and reported the occupied house to be fully involved.

All occupants are believed to have made it out safely, according to Gazette photographer Peter barber, who was at the scene.

Live power lines arcing in front of the building hampered firefighting efforts and kept crews back at a safe distance before power could be turned off. Rotterdam District 2, South Schenectady, Carman, Pine Grove and Fort Hunter fire departments battled the flames.

any goats injured?

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Give the guys a break.......just remember what happened in West Texas.....and how 14 were killed in that explosion.....they stayed knowing there would be an explosion so that the adjacent nursing home could be evacuated.

God bless the first responders......have some empathy please.

BTW...did any of you ever volunteer for your local fire department???

We know one who praises uncontrolled spending on fire departments yet wouldn't dream of volunteering himself.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

I'll come to his defense here. Isn't there a weight limit and some sort of morals clause that has to signed? That could be why he never volunteered.

Wow Patches you sort of missed the joke. Nobody was in any way demeaning the first responders. How you got that from what's been posted here mystifies me. Sad that the house was destroyed.
