If you're interested in birding, there is a Red Tailed Hawk Nest Cam at Ithaca on the Cornell campus. It's located on a light pole above the athletic fields. So far there are two chicks hatched and one egg soon to hatch.

Except Box doesn't believe the unhatched egg is actually an unborn bird --- just a clump of cells or maybe some moon dust.

This is so beautiful. Right now the birds are just waking up so the cam is black but the sounds are awesome. Can't wait till sunup. Thanks so much for starting my day out in such a wonderful way.
Cel, Some of what you'll see gets pretty gruesome when the adults start feeding the growing chicks, but it's how Red Tailed Hawks make a living.

I missed them getting the starling but everyone was saying it was gonna get it. I saw the babies being fed. I wasn't sure if it was RB or EZ feeding them. I am still learning which one is which. One sure is bigger than the other hawk.
Someone mentioned that they eat the same food as the parent. I hope I don't miss that last egg hatching. I have a way of recording full screen video on the puter here so I am going to let it run while I am out for a bit.
The chat feature is great, I am learning much. I've asked a couple questions and everyone was jumping in to share the answer. This is so pleasant to say the least.
Thank you so much for pointing me to this site. It is awesome!

In the early morning hours of Monday April 22, two of the hawk eggs hatched. Even before the young were out of their shells, Big Red and Ezra started bringing food to the nest. In this video, Big Red delicately feeds their young by tearing the prey into small pieces, giving the hatchlings just a little bit at a time. The hawks appear to be bringing a range of prey for the young; birds, snakes and rodents. In this video the young are just over a day old and are being fed what looks like a small rodent.

I'd almost like to have a giant flat-screen tv on the wall dedicated to one of these nests. Almost, because sometimes they aren't there or as mentionedpreviously, sometimes nature can be a bit too raw for the squeamish. Also, it would make me look like a bird nut, which I may be becoming.
