I'd also like to propose a ban on nails 3" and over and cut a standard box of nails from 50lbs down to 10lbs. Also I'd like to see background checks done for anyone wanting to purchase a nail gun. Eliminate high capacity nail guns by dropping coiled roofing and framing nails counts from 110 nails to 10 and 'Pasload' style nails from (IIRC) 25 down to 7.
This new law will prevent evil people from buys excessive amounts of nails.

Now that I think about it, if it really concerns you that much, I'd back a proposal to cut 3 fingers off to reduce the number of 1" fingernails from 10 to 7.
