I'm confused.

How does one get power from a pond?

A lake with rivers feeding into it or leaving it, yes - but a pond?

Poutres Pond that used to be where Memorial park is now, and Maxwell's Pond that used to be on Olean St,
were spring fed streams dammed up to make the ponds. Poutre's pond fed Maxwell's pond. The stream still
flows and meets up with another from the Tippicanoe area, flowing together down past the mall to the Mohawk.

The stream still flows next to Taco Bell and runs down into Hungry hill following the railroad tracks,
and going right to the back doors of Dunkin Donuts on Broadway hill. It appears to go underground
or into a pipe. The following map from 1931 shows Daly Pond on the upper right and the path it takes
to Broadway and Congress where it was a pond at that time.

Also if you look at Duane Ave there is the Brandywine pond that flowed down through the valley
where 890 now is to Broadway. I read that there was once a mill at Broadway that used that stream
for power.

Some of the various ponds were created from the streams.

The pond at Tippicanoe was spring fed too.

The pond in Central Park must be spring fed. I don't know if the pond in Vale cemetery is even still there.
