The District of Columbia’s Obamacare czars — the board that sets rules for the phony insurance marketplace, or “exchange,” that the law creates — have decided that henceforth insurers shall be forbidden by law to charge smokers higher rates than non-smokers. Smoking, as it turns out, “is a preexisting medical condition,” according to Dr. Mohammad Akhter, the chairman of the D.C. Health Exchange Board. Two liberal states, California and Connecticut, have decided likewise, while Colorado and Alaska have rejected the idea.

I posted about this under the pistol permits thread before I saw this post. You know, this guy has a point about anything being a preexisting condition under that definition. How could the people who put this thing together not have foreseen this? I think they did realize this, but couldn't sell it to the gullible masses without lying about it. Healthy young Americans without insurance would have objected more strenuously if they knew they were being forced to bear these kindsof costs.

the boundaries set by the 'tax payer healthcare' will make boundaries that include human behaviors/choices that one (regardless of education) is born with the right to choose to do....you know...like hamsters in a maze/on the wheel etc etc....
