Communities in India Look to Prevent Fluoride Contamination as New Studies Link Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease By JG Vibes Intellihub.com March 25, 2013
Recently a university in India has found significant evidence showing that fluoride may cause diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Fluoride has been a very highly publicized topic in India lately, because there has been widespread fluoride contamination of large sections of the water supply resulting in noticeable health deterioriations.
The Times of India reported that:
“The problem of high concentration of fluoride in ground water, which is causing innumerable problems and sufferings to hundreds of people in Bastar, extends much beyond the boundaries of this erstwhile princely state and virtually plagues 15 of the 27 districts in Chhattisgarh. Fluoride contamination runs as high as over 10Mg/L, against the permissible limit of 1.5 Mg/L in certain areas of the state, posing extreme health hazards to the people.”
The article went on to say that this problem was in the process of being fixed but that it was going to be a very slow moving project. However, many of the people living in India are now even more informed about the health risks of things like fluoride and are pushing for access to cleaner water.
The studies that were recently conducted showing connections to diabetes and cardiovascular disease took place at Sardar Patel University in India.
According to Food Consumer.com
“RupalA Vasant conducted his doctoral study at Sardar Patel University in India and found evidence suggesting that fluoride can also cause type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The author first demonstrated that rats exposed to fluoride in a dose of 100ppm sodium fluoride in drinking water for a four week period developed hyperglycemia and oxidative stress.
This means that exposure to fluoride may cause diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease. The study shows that exposure to fluoride can lead to loss of enzymatic and non enzymatic antioxidents which means that fluoride can lead to oxidation and inflation.”
As i have discussed many times in the past, fluoride is a carcinogenic waste product of aluminum. It is also the main ingredient in rat poison, nerve gas and Prozac. |
