Imagine that.  Hundreds of murders; thousands of murders, and none of them committed by Marines.
How can that be possible???

So I guess Cicero considers those killed in battle the same as those killed for drugs, greed,
domestic disputes... they are all equal??? It's true that they are all dead, but not all are
murdered.

Do Marines commit crimes? Yes of course, all humans are capable of crimes.  One difference in the
Marine group is that anyone with mental instability is screened and put back into your group... the
group made up of CIVILIANS.
Anyone convicted of violent felony crimes, is excluded from the Marines... they are put back into
your group... the group made up of CIVILIANS.
Murders are in all occupations, all cultures, all economic groups... the Marines do their best to prevent
known murders from joining their ranks.
The same can't be said for Libertarians... It appears they are so desperate for members in their
ranks they will accept anyone... even the mentally unstable... (See L4Life)

He posted an international war crime committed without a declaration of war.

This creates enemies all around the world.

Local criminal actions don't represent all American citizens, so they aren't an a
reflection on all Americans.

The argument that crimes are committed every day so therefore military atrocities,
murders and suicides are nothing special is the worst argument ever.

All servicemen represent all of America and are held to a higher standard of conduct.

Stop defending and minimizing these actions committed on behalf of the entire
American people.

Or continue to protest against those who protest death and the use of force on others.

You make me look good at your own expense.

You make a great argument L4L, the actions of a few can make all Americans pay, some don't grasp the theory of blowback.

It's called blind patriotism.

Atrocities and collateral damages are acceptable to them.

My typing about it is not.

When I read the first post, I see that the killers involved have been charged with crimes, sent to jail etc., which tell me we don't go for that sort of behavior here in this country, by our civilians. We find it wrong. So I think L4L has made a point about state state-sanctioned murder. I don't know why more people don't get upset about killing on the flimsiest of excuses, as long as it doesn't happen here.

Box, if a civilian murderer posed for pictures while pissing on their victim, they wouldn't be considered just a run of the mill murderer killing out of anger or revenge, but a psychopathic serial killer like Jeffery Dalmer.  I guess it's the pleasure in which these Marines kill with that is most disturbing.  And God knows how many of these people have re-entrered society.

BTW, the punishment was a drop in rank from Staff Sergeant to Sergeant and the 3 others received administrative punishment.

I guess filming your fellow marines pissing on dead bodies is a big deal.TIC

Your post cites "CIVILIAN MURDER".  These Marines didn't MURDER anyone.  Their offense was
disrespect for the bodies.

Ok, if a civilian committed homicide defending their home from an intruder and then posed for pictures while pissing on the dead body, what do you call that?  I would call them a sick fu(k at the very least, but I image there has to be some violation of law.

Of the articles I read, it didn't sound as if they were given a psychological evaluation or removed from combat.

I'll have to ask my father about the Marine culture of posing for pictures while pissing on the dead.  You're right, I don't understand the culture of the noble and heroic soldier.

You can judge those marines as if they represented all marines... of course they don't
and
I will judge you as if Jeffrey Dahmer represented all civilians... of course he doesn't.

Cissy, you have such a huge chip on your shoulder about the military... My guess it has nothing to
do with the military and everything to do with your childhood.

Don't judge Dalmer or the individual Marines, judge how civil society and the military punish the behavior.  Dalmer is a psychpatic monster sentenced to 15 life terms, Marines - demoted and given administrative discipline and returned to service walking free and collecting a paycheck.  Someday those marines will retun to civil society and be somebody's next door neighbor.

Bad guess.  I just don't accept that sociopaths willing to kill are any less sociopaths by putting on a costume.  Or that their sociopathic behavior stops when they take off the costume.

Cicero is comparing "pissing on dead bodies"... (not sure if that's even a felony)...
to...
Jeffrey Dahmer, a serial killer and sex offender who "murdered 17 men and boys".
His murders involved rape, dismemberment, necrophilia and cannibalism.

Cissy sees the Marines as some what 'more dangerous' than Dahmer.
Again, Cicero's post says much more about Cicero than it does about either Dahmer or
the Marines.

For some reason... possibly buried  in Cicero's subconscious, Cicero has an unexplained hatred
and fear of the military in general, and Marines in particular.
